In 2017, Cam My officially achieved the new rural district standard. As one of the localities selected by the province to build an advanced new rural district in the period of 2021-2025, in recent times, Cam My has focused on investing all resources to strive to achieve the advanced new rural district standard in 2024.
Up to now, 100% of communes in the district have met the conditions for recognition of new rural standards for the period 2021-2025. Up to now, the district has 12/12 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, of which the province has assessed and 7/12 communes (reaching 58.3%) ensure maintenance and stability of advanced new rural communes for the period 2021-2025. The whole district has 4 model new rural communes, 17 model residential areas. Long Giao town meets civilized urban standards.
The average income per capita in the district reaches 83 million VND/person/year; the average income per hectare of cultivated and aquaculture area reaches 190 million VND; the district has no poor households or multidimensional near-poor households according to the Central multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022-2025.
