Dong Nai honors 183 individuals and groups 'Old age

Chairwoman of the Provincial Elderly Association Nguyen Thi Kim Lien said that in 1995, the Vietnam Elderly Association was established. Soon after, in Dong Nai, an organization representing the provincial elderly was also established and in 2000, the Provincial Elderly Association Representative Board was established.

In December 2024, the Provincial Elderly Association Representative Board was renamed the Provincial Elderly Association. Currently, there are over 17 million elderly people nationwide. Of which, Dong Nai has 243,500 elderly people and 210,000 of them are members of the Elderly Association at all levels.

According to the President of the Provincial Elderly Association Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, continuing the tradition of old age - bright example, in the coming time, with experience, intelligence, and prestige, the elderly will continue to mobilize and propagate relatives to comply with the provisions of the law, agree and actively participate in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies.

The Elderly Association at all levels will lead, direct and unite the association and its members to build a strong and comprehensive association; gather and attract a large number of elderly people to participate in activities and unite in the association; organize many practical activities to improve the cultural, spiritual and health life of the elderly.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly awarded certificates of merit to 24 individuals and the Provincial Association of the Elderly awarded certificates of merit to 159 individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old age - bright example" for the period 2020-2025.

* On the same day, the Provincial Elderly Association organized a thematic activity: Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on the elderly and the article "Learning for a lifetime" by General Secretary To Lam to the elderly in the province. In addition, the Provincial Elderly Association also commended and expressed gratitude to the leaders of the Elderly Association at all levels through the periods.
