In the early morning of October 8, the Thuong River in Yen The, Bac Ninh province overflowed the dike (not broken as reported on social networks) due to floodwaters from upstream in Lang Son rushing in too quickly. Mr. Hoang Van Tuan, Chief of Office of Tien Luc Commune People's Committee, Bac Ninh province, said that the incident of the 20m long dike breaking at 2am on October 8 has been basically resolved, not affecting people's lives.

According to the Bac Ninh Dike Department, the bank overflow incident occurred at the Tien Luc dike line. The dike is a dike that protects a separate area outside the main dike.
