Young cadres and English enter the era of national growth

On the afternoon of May 6, the Central Secretariat of the Youth Union issued a plan to organize the 7th English Olympic Competition for young officials in 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese Youth Officials stepping into the thriving era together with English".

The contest aims to concretize the resolutions of the Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Association and the Vietnam Youth Union, and at the same time promote the Program to support the improvement of foreign language skills and international integration for Vietnamese youth in the period 2022-2030.

Contestants are young officials from 18 to 35 years old in the following groups: Civil servants, public employees, enterprises, armed forces, encouraging young people in difficult areas, mountainous areas, officials working in combat units, direct production of enterprises to participate.

The contest consists of many rounds with diverse content, designed for each target group. Candidates will go through tests of English listening, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and communication skills; at the same time, integrating knowledge about youth organizations such as the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Association, the Vietnam Youth Union; documents of the 12th National Youth Union Congress, the 11th National Student Association Congress, and the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union.

In addition, candidates also need to have a solid understanding of the Youth Law, the Youth Development Strategy 2021-2030, information surrounding the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, important events in national history, information about Party and State leaders, economic, political, diplomatic and cultural situations at home and abroad...

Notably, the Organizing Committee of the contest also launched a series of activities "Entering the era of national growth with English" in conjunction with the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Workers' Month and events related to rural youth, youth working in tourism, business and through a number of online platforms.

Candidates register to take the exam at: https://cbt.olympicenglish.vn. The opening ceremony of the competition will be held on May 16, 2025 in Hanoi. Currently, the Organizing Committee has opened the test portal for candidates to register.
