VinFast launches small electric bus and school bus

On May 5, VinFast Company officially launched the EB 6 small electric bus line and the student transport version, with many safety features and monitoring technology.

Accordingly, VinFast's EB 6 electric bus is 6.2m long, 2.2m wide, 2.9m high and has an electric motor with a maximum capacity of 140kW, reaching a maximum speed of 90km/h. This is VinFast's first small electric bus line aimed at replacing current diesel buses on short, densely populated routes.

The highlight of the car is the 179.5kWh LFP battery pack, allowing it to travel more than 250km after each full charge. The car supports DC fast charging with a maximum capacity of 120kW, which can charge from 20% to 80% in about 70 minutes.

VinFast EB 6 has two main versions: urban electric bus and school bus, using the same chassis and engine but different in interior layout and accompanying technology.

The urban electric bus version is designed with 11 seats, 1 seat for wheelchairs, 1 seat for the driver and 17 standing seats, with a total capacity of 30 people.

Meanwhile, the student transport version has 19 seats and 1 driver's seat, equipped with seat belts for each seat and integrated monitoring technology to ensure maximum safety for students. Outstanding equipment includes a roll call system and warning system to not forget students, a driver monitoring camera, a 21-inch LED screen, and an application dedicated to parents and students...

Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) will be the official distributor of these two vehicle lines. According to the plan, the EB 6 urban electric bus will be manufactured in September 2025. A month later, in October, the student transport version will be available on the market.

Notably, GSM will not only stop at distributing vehicles but also deploy the first high-class student shuttle service in Vietnam using electric vehicles.
