Chess powerhouse India has five players in the top 10, including reigning world champion Gukesh Dommaraju, Arjun Erigasi (ranked 4th in the world), former world champion Viswanathan Anand, prodigy Vidit Santosh Gujrathi and Praggnanandhaa. China has two representatives, former world champions Ding Liren and Yu Yangyi. Nodirbek Abdusattorov, considered a chess prodigy from Uzbekistan, is also present alongside veteran Sakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan).

The remaining face in the top 10 is Le Quang Liem, the 2013 world blitz chess champion. "Coming from Ho Chi Minh City, Liem emerged as a Vietnamese chess prodigy. Achieving the title of grandmaster at the age of 15, he quickly asserted himself. His intelligence and diligence helped Liem create many remarkable matches, creating a reputation in the international arena," top10asia magazine introduced Le Quang Liem.

According to the World Chess Federation (FIDE), Le Quang Liem is ranked 15th with an elo of 2,739. He is currently the coach of the chess team at Webster University (USA), where he received a full scholarship to study abroad and graduated with honors. He is also the Director of the SPICE chess academy in the US.

Busy with management and coaching, Le Quang Liem still takes time to practice chess to participate in suitable tournaments. Recently, the 1991-born player returned from the US to Ho Chi Minh City to compete in the KPNest chess tournament and interact with fans. Vietnam's No. 1 chess player gave many useful tips to young players: “No one is born a champion. All world grandmasters were once beginners. Maybe when you first started playing chess, you lost more. Later, as your level improved, you lost less and started to win more. That's a process. The biggest advice that Liem can give is not to focus too much on the results. If you feel like you played better today than yesterday, or played better in this tournament than before, then you have made progress, progress compared to yourself. Objectively, you have to ask yourself what you need to do to improve. For that, young players need to talk to their coaches to know what their weaknesses are and where they need to improve."
