The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just approved the assignment of Vingroup Corporation to research and prepare a report proposing the investment policy for the sea route project connecting Can Gio and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) to submit to competent authorities for consideration, appraisal and approval in accordance with the provisions of the Investment Law, the Law on Investment under the public-private partnership model and related legal provisions.

According to the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Vingroup must balance its own budget (not using the city budget) to research and prepare a report within 12 months from the date the document is issued.

People now travel from Can Gio to Vung Tau by sea ferry.

Two sea ferry routes from Can Gio - Vung Tau run in parallel, the travel time is about 35 minutes.

Previously, Vingroup sent a document to Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, proposing approval to study and invest in a sea route connecting Can Gio and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) under the BT (build - transfer) contract form.

Many departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City support the investment research of the sea route project connecting Can Gio with Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) to enhance traffic connectivity in the coastal area of Ho Chi Minh City.

The proposed location for the bridgehead is on the Vung Tau side.

Vingroup believes that investing in the sea route will significantly shorten travel time between the two areas, creating a new traffic corridor connecting functional areas in the City.
