Return nearly 500 million VND to the person who transferred it by mistake

On November 13, Hoa Xuan Ward Police (Da Nang City) said that they had just verified and returned nearly 500 million VND to a resident in Lam Dong province who had mistakenly transferred it to the bank account of a resident in Hoa Xuan Ward.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 12, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Minh Thanh (born in 2007, residing on Co Man Cuc 3 Street, Hoa Xuan Ward) went to Hoa Xuan Ward Police to report receiving an erroneous transfer of 499,999,999 VND from an account named Ngu Hoang Quoc Dat.

Immediately upon receiving the information, Hoa Xuan Ward Police instructed and coordinated with MB Bank Hoa Tho branch (142 Ong Ich Duong) to complete the procedures and return the entire amount to the account owner, Mr. Ngu Hoang Quoc Dat (born in 1975), residing in Lam Dong province.

Sharing about his work, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Minh Thanh said: "When I saw the amount of nearly 500 million VND transferred into my account, I was very surprised. I knew for sure that someone had transferred it by mistake, so I immediately went to the police station to report and return it. It was someone else's property. When they found out they had transferred it by mistake, they were probably very worried. If I had kept it, it would not have been the right thing to do."
