Planting trees for a green Da Nang

DNO - On the morning of November 13, at the Martyrs Cemetery of Quang Nam province (old), Quang Phu ward, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang city organized a ceremony to pay tribute and launch a tree planting campaign in 2025. The tree planting campaign location is the area along the slopes of Cam Mountain, west of the old Quang Nam Province Martyrs' Cemetery to the border of the Monument to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers.

Local cadres, soldiers, union members, youth and students participated in planting hundreds of black star, lim, lat hoa, and lagerstroemia trees...

This activity contributes to the completion of Da Nang city's plan to plant 56.6 million trees in the period of 2021 - 2025 and implement Plan No. 208/KH-UBND dated January 7, 2025 of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (now Da Nang city) on launching tree planting in 2025.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung highly appreciated and commended the achievements of all levels, sectors and local authorities in recent times. Especially the efforts of the Agriculture and Environment sector with many initiatives, good, practical and effective ways in forest protection and development.

At the same time, we believe that with new determination, the "tree planting and afforestation" movement will spread and develop widely throughout the city, becoming a widespread mass movement.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung emphasized: the movement "Planting trees, afforestation, sustainable forest development - for a green Da Nang" is a practical activity, demonstrating the spirit of responding to the call of President Ho Chi Minh; at the same time contributing to the goal of planting 1 billion trees in the period of 2021 - 2025 launched by the Prime Minister.

Da Nang is moving towards the goal of becoming an “environmental city”. In that journey, trees and forests play an important role, acting as lungs to regulate the climate, reduce pollution, create a green, clean and beautiful landscape, and a shield to protect the city from natural disasters, storms and floods.
