Loving home helps poor people in Tu My settle down and have a good life

As a poor household in the commune, previously, all the activities of the 3 members of Ms. Le Thi Phuc's family (village 4, Tu My commune) took place in a dilapidated level 4 house. Ms. Phuc's meager seasonal salary was mainly used to pay for her mother's mental illness treatment and her son's education, which was slow to develop. Therefore, for her, a solid house has been her dream for many years.

However, in 2025, Ms. Phuc's dream of "settling down and having a career" became a reality. In addition to the support of 70 million VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tu My commune and the care and help of relatives and local people, a spacious and solid house was built and completed in August 2025.

Ms. Phuc was moved: "With the attention of the Party Committee, local government, mass organizations and neighbors, now my family has a solid house to settle down. This is the most precious gift in life, a great encouragement that makes me believe more in the policies of the Party and State and have the motivation to work and produce, my son has the conditions to excel in his studies."

People in village 4 are happy that from now on, Le Thi Phuc's family can settle down and make a living.

Also in 2025, the new house of Ms. Le Thi San's family (village 1, Tu My commune) - a near-poor household - was completed and put into use. "My husband is a social protection subject, often sick, so when I received the attention and sharing of the locality and community, I was very touched. The ^80m2 house with a total value of about 250 million VND of my family was built with the support of 70 million VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the commune; the contribution of working days from the army, police, youth union... Therefore, this house has an extremely great meaning" - Ms. San shared.

Ms. Le Thi San (village 1, Tu My commune) was moved to send her thanks to the local Party Committee, government and mass organizations that helped her family have a spacious and comfortable house.

Recently, the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in Tu My commune have actively propagated to the people to understand the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses to create consensus. In addition, they have reviewed and assessed the current situation, made a list of households eligible for support and regularly checked and urged the construction and repair. With the spirit of "Those who have contributed, those who have contributed, those who have little contributed, those who have much contributed", many poor households, near-poor households and policy families have been settled in new, spacious and solid houses.

In addition, social security work has always been given attention, the movement "For the poor", the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" continues to be promoted. Responding to the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, since the beginning of the term, the commune has coordinated to support the construction of 12 new houses and the repair of 6 houses with a total cost of more than 1 billion VND. Tu My commune has always received attention and support from charitable organizations and individuals for people with meritorious services and households in difficult circumstances in the area with a total support value of over 500 million VND.

Poverty reduction work has always been identified by the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of Tu My commune as a key and continuous task.

Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tu My Commune, Le Thi Thanh Mai, said: "In the coming time, the commune will continue to identify poverty reduction as an important political task, consistent in the local socio-economic development programs and plans. This work needs to be implemented regularly, long-term and sustainably, while ensuring supervision, evaluation and criticism to promptly draw lessons and propose appropriate solutions for each stage. At the same time, the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations will step up propaganda work to raise awareness of sustainable poverty reduction, promote the synchronous coordination of the entire political system, create a combined strength to help poor and near-poor households have conditions to develop production, improve their lives and escape poverty."

New, spacious, and sturdy houses have been built to replace temporary and dilapidated houses, not only contributing to ensuring social security and improving people's quality of life, but also demonstrating the care, responsibility, and sharing of the community. Thereby, contributing to the good implementation of the Party's policies and the State's policies on ensuring social security, helping the poor have the motivation to improve their lives.
