On the morning of November 13, Kien Giang University ( An Giang province) held the inauguration ceremony of the plastic recycling space under the project "Prevention, reduction and recycling of fishing gear waste causing pollution in Vietnam's seas" (Net-works).

Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Rector of Kien Giang University, said that in the context of plastic waste, especially fishing gear waste, becoming a serious challenge to the marine environment, the operation of the Net-works project's plastic recycling space is an important step forward in the effort to connect scientific research, training and production practices.

The project not only serves the learning and research activities of lecturers and students, but is also a place to demonstrate, transfer and spread the green recycling model to the community.

The project is a testament to the close relationship between education - science - policy - business - community, working towards the common goal of protecting marine resources and developing a circular economy.

The plastic recycling space of plastic recycling will become a center for training, research and dissemination of green knowledge, contributing to improving students' capacity, while promoting innovative initiatives for the environment.
