Not only changing in consumption, young people in Da Nang have had many changes in awareness, when every small action is aimed at sustainable development for the community and the green planet.

Spread with terrarium

Recently, many terrarium workshops have been organized, attracting a large number of young people. Not only because of its creativity and uniqueness, this activity also brings a sense of relaxation and connection between people with the same interests.

Terrariums are miniature gardens designed in glass jars, combining bonsai, rocks, soil and sand to create a delicate and lively ecosystem. This is not only an aesthetic hobby, but also a way for the maker to express their own personality and style. Each terrarium product is a personal mark - created from the ideas, meticulousness and emotions of the maker.

According to Nguyen Ngoc Mai Phuong (born 1998, Thanh Khe ward), the workshops not only help to relax but also open up opportunities to meet and connect with many people with similar interests. “We work and talk about life, how to stay positive in the midst of a busy life. That really makes me feel relieved and meaningful.”

As the co-founder of Heal Terra, a gift shop specializing in terrarium products, Ms. Phung Thi Cam Tuyen (Hoa Xuan ward) said that the terrarium model began to develop in 2022, when COVID-19 broke out. With the desire to find more income and with a love for nature, she started researching and creating unique "miniature gardens" while spreading a green lifestyle to the community. Up to now, the model has received attention and response from the community.

Heal Terra currently creates stable jobs for 6 local workers, with each product priced from 500,000 VND or more. The store currently develops 2 main product lines: terrariums of real plants combined with water; preserved moss paintings, and terrestrial miniature landscapes. The commonly used plants are: moss, ferns, succulents... small-sized, moisture-resistant, slow-growing species.

In addition to selling display products and gifts, Heal Terra also organizes workshops to connect nature lovers, instructing on how to create terrariums and spreading the spirit of green living. Heal Terra is promoting communication and marketing on social networking platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and TikTok. In the near future, Ms. Tuyen plans to research new techniques to apply to many other types of plants, expanding the model in a more sustainable and creative way.

Forming habits

Also leaning towards the green living trend, Ms. Ha Trinh Ngan, owner of the free flower workshop in Da Nang, chose to spread positive energy through flowers. Stemming from her passion for flowers and the desire to share the beauty of nature, Ms. Ngan organizes free workshops for young people who love the art of flower arrangement in Da Nang.

Ms. Ngan often posts information about the event on social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok and threads to connect people with similar interests, then looks for cafes with open spaces, fully prepared tools for participants. Each month, the workshop is held 1-2 sessions, attracting about 10-15 participants. Here, young people are free to create, arrange flower vases with their own style and emotions.

“I want to spread the love of nature and the inspiration of healthy, green living to everyone. After each class, you can arrange flowers for special occasions for yourself, your family or your friends, that makes me feel so happy,” Ms. Ngan shared.

Responding to the movement and raising awareness of green living, the Da Nang City Youth Union coordinated with UNICEF Vietnam to organize the project "Building a green library model" in 2025. The activity aims to educate and raise awareness among children and youth in the city in protecting the landscape and school environment, increase awareness of children and youth about climate change, and at the same time arouse the passion for books among children and youth, effectively improving reading culture in the city.

Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the City Youth Union Council Le Kim Thuong said that the project "Building a green library model" in 2025 is an interesting journey for young people to discover their own abilities and enhance creativity in building environmentally friendly green library models.

Le Khanh Linh, a student at Trung Vuong Secondary School in Hai Chau Ward, said she was very impressed with the green library model, which not only brings joy, but also helps students better understand environmental protection and form green living habits right at school. “Our group is also implementing recycling projects, book donations, green workshops… creating opportunities for many other students to experience and love nature more,” Khanh Linh shared.
