Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and more than 20 businesses operating on the Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham route.
Business representatives raised difficulties and problems related to the national inland waterway Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham; proposed to soon dredge the Cua Dai area to ensure safety for the route to Cu Lao Cham because over time the channel has been increasingly silted up, becoming too narrow, causing difficulties for canoes.
According to businesses, authorities have yet to announce the planning of entertainment and tourism areas on Cu Lao Cham Island, so activities such as rowing basket boats or some other activities are still not allowed.
In addition, the infrastructure and wharves at Cua Dai and Cu Lao Cham port are quite rudimentary and degraded, affecting the safety and experience of tourists.
Tourism businesses request that authorities quickly modernize departure procedures, instead of still implementing them manually as they are now.

A representative of the Department of Transportation and Traffic Safety, Department of Construction of Da Nang informed that with the Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham inland waterway route, many businesses want to invest in further development in terms of quality and number of seats (number of people on the trains) to increase competitiveness.
However, the infrastructure at the two ports is not good (elevators, wharves, etc.); the total number of seats planned must not exceed the number of seats allowed to go to the island according to Decision No. 2695 dated September 6, 2018 of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (old). Therefore, the authorities are reviewing this decision to better suit the practical situation.
The Da Nang Maritime Port Authority records all opinions of businesses and departments and branches to report to superior leaders. Thereby, it will soon support and remove obstacles when doing business on the Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham inland waterway.
