In the coming time, the center will continue to coordinate with the National University to review the actual passenger traffic, propose to expand the number of peak hour trips and update the list of stops on campus to improve the service quality of the bus industry.
National University internal bus route to open soon
Mr. Le Hoan - Deputy Director of the Public Transport Management Center (HCMC Department of Construction) - said that HCMC is currently implementing procedures and inviting bids to open bus route 170 (bus station area A - bus station area B) running within the Ho Chi Minh City National University from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Route 170 is organized mainly to serve students and people to travel conveniently from bus station A to bus station B, solving some existing problems. Especially, continuing to improve the bus network connecting to metro station No. 1.
"Recently, units have regularly surveyed the travel needs of students between universities, dormitories... to continue perfecting the plan to organize internal bus routes in the urban area of Ho Chi Minh City National University. From there, connect universities, functional areas, and metro stations of Ho Chi Minh City National University," said Mr. Hoan.
Previously, the route of bus route 33 was shortened and no longer passed through some points in the National University area (from August 1), including the pick-up point at dormitory area B, causing many students to have difficulty traveling. To solve the problem, the center arranged many connecting bus routes and studied a series of solutions to respond.
