According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the afternoon and night of August 21, in the mountainous areas of the North, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 100mm.

Other areas of the North, Thanh Hoa , the South Central Coast, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 15 - 30 mm, some places over 80 mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain (over 80 mm/3 hours). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and inundation in low-lying areas.

At sea, on the day and night of August 21, in the northern area of ​​the Gulf of Tonkin, the central and southern areas of the East Sea (including the Truong Sa special economic zone), the sea area from Gia Lai to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms.
