According to the forecast of Nghe An Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of May 10, the low pressure trough was compressed by the continental high pressure in the North, gradually moving south and pushing up. Above, the wind convergence zone above 1500m level was formed in the Northern and North Central regions, the continental high pressure continued to strengthen weakly; From around May 12, it weakened rapidly and formed a low pressure trough. From May 13-14, the upper low pressure trough was compressed weakly and pushed south. From around May 17, the low pressure area in the West showed signs of developing again to the East.

Therefore, it is forecasted that from May 11, Nghe An will have widespread rain lasting from May 11 to 16.

Specifically, it is forecasted that from the night of May 10 to 12, there will be rain in most districts from the plains to the mountains with rainfall of 40-60mm. The focus of rain may occur in localities such as: Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Quynh Luu, Vinh City...

On May 13th, the weather is forecast to be sunny. However, in the following days from May 14th to 16th, it will rain again in most localities, with a decrease in rainfall, forecasted at about 30mm.

In addition to rain and reduced temperatures, thunderstorms are forecast to be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind that can affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of a strengthening cold air mass, the Northern and North Central regions are about to enter a period of widespread heavy rain lasting from May 10 to May 11.

Specifically, in the evening and night of May 9: The North and Thanh Hoa will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain (15-30mm), and some places may experience more than 60mm. The risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms is very high.

The North Central region from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh is forecast to start having rain from the evening of May 10, lasting until the morning of May 11, with rainfall ranging from 30-70mm, and locally exceeding 150mm. Rain may occur in a short period of time with high intensity (over 80mm in 6 hours).
