Sour soup with red tilapia is a dish with a strong Southern flavor of sour, spicy, and sweet. This dish is very suitable for summer meals. With ingredients and preparation methods that are not too complicated, you will have a delicious dish that many people love.
Ingredient:
- Tilapia
- Okra, bean sprouts, mint, pineapple, tomato, tamarind, shallot, garlic, coriander, chili
- Spices: cooking oil, salt, seasoning powder, sugar, fish sauce.
Making:
- Scrape the scales off the tilapia, wash it with water and cut the fish into 3 bite-sized pieces.
- Wash okra, cut diagonally. Cut pineapple into bite-sized pieces. Cut tomato into quarters. Wash bean sprouts, drain. Peel mint, cut diagonally like okra. Wash and finely chop Vietnamese coriander. Put all ingredients on a plate, set aside.
- Finely chop the shallots and saute until fragrant. When the shallots start to turn light yellow, add the tomatoes and stir until the tomatoes are soft and colored.
- Next, add the tilapia, flip gently so that the spices are evenly absorbed on both sides of the fish. When the fish meat starts to firm up, pour in 1 bowl of water and bring to a boil.
- Season with salt, seasoning powder, sugar... to taste. Pour boiling water into the tamarind, mash the tamarind and use a sieve to filter the tamarind juice. Put the tamarind juice into the pot and continue cooking.
- When the fish is cooked, take it out onto a plate and continue to add mint, pineapple, okra, and bean sprouts, cook until the soup boils again, then turn off the stove. Ladle the soup into a bowl, add chili, Vietnamese coriander, and fried garlic to make the sour soup look beautiful and eye-catching.
So the dish is done. There's nothing better than making a bowl of spicy fish sauce to dip the fish in.
