However, along with the convenience, a series of sophisticated scams are also appearing more and more frequently, aiming to steal money from wallets, even pushing account holders into debt. The most common scam involves promising easy jobs but instant cash, often through messages from accounts supposedly belonging to acquaintances.

One victim, a student, reported receiving a message from a friend on Facebook inviting her to receive a 500,000 VND discount from an e-wallet. Trusting her friend, she followed the instructions, providing her e-wallet information, linked bank account number, transaction history, and even activating the postpaid wallet feature, all with the promise of confirming the promotion. In less than an hour, this student not only lost all the money in her wallet but also became indebted due to the theft of funds from her postpaid wallet.

Users should be wary of scams involving e-wallets.

Statistics show that nearly 75% of current scams are financial in nature, aiming to steal assets.

Legal experts estimate that the chances of recovering assets lost through fraud are almost zero. Because online transactions happen so quickly, in just seconds, banks or financial platforms find it difficult to intervene immediately.

Legal experts emphasize that there is no easy job with high pay. Nor does any profit come naturally or easily. It's necessary to curb greed and carefully consider offers to make money or borrow money online. Caution is the safest password.

According to the Penal Code, fraud involving the appropriation of property worth 2 million VND or more can be subject to criminal prosecution. Therefore, victims of fraud exceeding this amount should proactively report to the authorities. Even in cases of fraud under 2 million VND, victims should still report the incidents to help raise awareness and enable the community to identify and prevent current fraudulent schemes.
