From early morning, the hall of Phong Doanh Commune People's Committee was crowded with cadres, party members and people attending the program. The loudspeakers playing songs about the sea and islands resounded enthusiastically, the colorful banners and posters of the program made the atmosphere here more joyful and exciting.

Propaganda officers of Coast Guard Region 1 introduced the 27-year tradition of building, developing and maturing of the Vietnam Coast Guard, the recent situation in the East Sea; and propagated regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing to more than 200 delegates.

The working delegation of Coast Guard Region 1 visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Tuyen in Binh Thuong hamlet, Phong Doanh commune.

At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 200 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people in difficult circumstances; gave 10 bicycles to students who overcame difficulties in their studies; visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Tuyen in Binh Thuong hamlet, Phong Doanh commune.

Receiving the gift from the CSB soldiers, Mr. Ngo Khac Dan, Dai Loc Nam village, emotionally shared: “I am a war invalid, returning to live in the locality for decades. Through following, I see that this is a very practical program.

The organizing committee presented gifts to policy families in Phong Doanh commune, Ninh Binh province.

Through the program, not only were my fellow countrymen informed and disseminated with useful knowledge about the law and useful information about the situation of the sea and islands, but fishermen in difficult circumstances, families with preferential policies, and poor but excellent students were also given many practical and meaningful gifts by officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 1. Thereby, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love, sharing difficulties in life as well as the responsibility of the Vietnam Coast Guard with policy beneficiaries. Thank you, comrades!

Directly participating in the program implementation in Phong Doanh commune, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Hung, Deputy Political Commissar of CSB Region 1 said: "In the coming time, we will continue to implement the program "CSB accompanies fishermen" in many coastal localities within the scope of the unit's work. The practicality and effectiveness of this activity has contributed to strengthening the solidarity and cohesion between the army and the people, together with the Party Committee, the government and the people to build an increasingly solid national defense posture associated with the people's security posture in the area, contributing to spreading the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Vietnamese CSB soldiers" in the hearts of the people".

Speaking at the program, comrade Vu Hoang Hiep, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phong Doanh commune, said that Phong Doanh is a locality with agriculture and fisheries developing in the direction of commodity production, applying high technology in cultivation and production. The accompaniment of officers and soldiers of CSB Region 1 through the program "CSB accompanies fishermen" has a very practical meaning, helping the Party Committee, government and local people have more motivation to develop the economy - society, ensure national defense, security, and build an increasingly prosperous homeland.
