Couple who met through 'Road to Olympia' took wedding photos at the old stage

At the stage of "25th Anniversary of Road to Olympia - Stars of Hope", the audience was surprised to see the appearance of a couple in wedding attire. They were Dao Van Anh (born in 1997) and Nghiem Quoc Huy (born in 1997) - two former contestants who participated in the program in its 15th year.

After a journey of nearly a decade since touching the laurel wreath, the two "climbers" became husband and wife. They took their wedding photos at the Olympia stage - the starting point of their love story.

The idea of taking wedding photos at the Road to Olympia stage was proposed by Van Anh and received approval from Quoc Huy. The couple contacted the program 3 months in advance and received enthusiastic support from the production team.

After 10 years of returning to the Olympia stage, the most emotional moment for both of them was when they stood in the same position they had competed in, met MC Ngoc Huy and the familiar faces of the production team.

"It feels like meeting an old friend after 10 years. What touched us was that everyone still remembered the contestants from that year and welcomed them very warmly," Van Anh said.

Although they both participated in the program in 2015, Van Anh and Quoc Huy competed in two different races so they never knew each other during their participation in Olympia. The first time they met was at a meeting of the contestants. At that time, Van Anh studied at the University of Law ( Hanoi ), and Quoc Huy was a student at the University of Technology (Hanoi).

In the following years, the two maintained contact as friends in the group of former contestants. In September 2022, at the Olympia community exchange event held in Hue , the two were placed in the same team so they had many opportunities to talk, quickly found common ground and became a couple.

Sharing about her husband, Van Anh said she was impressed by Huy's intelligence, responsibility and sense of humor. "Maybe I'm a bit 'bland' so I need a 'salty' person like him to make life more vibrant."

For Quoc Huy, what makes him admire Van Anh is her seriousness at work and her cute, approachable personality in everyday life. “We look different, but we talk very well. Sometimes we just need to look at each other to understand each other’s thoughts.”

Currently, Dao Van Anh is a lawyer of the Hanoi Bar Association, while Nghiem Quoc Huy is working at Viettel Aerospace Institute as an aeronautical engineer. The upcoming journey of the “mountain climber” couple is to continue conquering the peaks in their career and life.
