On the afternoon of November 26, according to a quick report from the Vietnam Road Administration sent to the Ministry of Construction , the weather in the Central and South Central regions has changed positively, with a sharp decrease in rainfall, creating favorable conditions for damage recovery work on the national road system after storm No. 15 and prolonged rain and floods.
Implementing Official Dispatch No. 1626/CD-BXD dated November 25 of the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Road Administration issued Official Dispatch No. 31/CD-CDBVN, requesting road management areas and provincial Departments of Construction to proactively respond , increase 24/7 on-duty, patrol the scene and focus on repairing damaged areas, especially in the Central region.
As of 4 p.m. on November 26, there were still 8 traffic jams on the national highways managed by the locality, mainly on National Highway 27C and National Highway 20. In Khanh Hoa, there were 5 traffic jams on National Highway 27C due to landslides on steep terrain and water-saturated ground.
In Lam Dong, there are still 3 locations: two landslides on National Highway 20 at Mimosa Pass and D'Ran Pass, and one point on National Highway 27C, section Km65+800–Km66. Units are deploying technical solutions to soon clear the route, ensuring people's travel needs and serving relief work.
A representative of the Vietnam Road Administration said that because the forces are prioritizing the route, the damage figures remain the same as reported in Document No. 6546/CDBVN-TCGT dated November 23. Road management areas, the Department of Construction, local authorities and functional forces are implementing the "four on-site" motto, focusing on clearing rocks and soil, reinforcing slopes, clearing flows, temporarily repairing roadbeds, and arranging barriers and traffic warnings.
Since November 20, the Department of Construction has mobilized about 160 vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, cranes and dump trucks, to serve the transportation of relief goods and travel needs in heavily affected areas.
Local support continues to be strengthened. The working group of Road Management Zone III and Road Technical Center III coordinated with Khanh Hoa Department of Construction to survey the damage and propose solutions to repair on National Highway 27C from November 24. Road Management Zone IV also sent a working group to inspect landslides on National Highway 20 in Lam Dong and propose emergency repair plans. To date, the Zone has supported Lam Dong province with 5,000 steel baskets, bringing the total number of supporting materials to 12,000 steel baskets to handle major landslides.
The Vietnam Road Administration said it will continue to closely monitor the situation, maintain direction and be ready to regulate materials and equipment when requested by localities, to ensure quick and safe road clearance. These efforts contribute to stabilizing people's lives and supporting socio-economic recovery in localities affected by natural disasters.
