Cau Giay conducts fire prevention and fighting drills in residential areas at high risk of fire and explosion

According to the drill plan, the security guard at the boarding house No. 71B, Alley 105, Doan Ke Thien Street (Mai Dich Ward) received a signal of a fire in room 303. Immediately, the security guard shouted to everyone around and reported the fire to the building using the boarding house's fire alarm system. At the same time, he called the local authorities, the ward and the city to report the fire.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team was present at the scene to perform their duties.

During the deployment, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team discovered that 10 people were trapped in rented rooms on the 3rd floor because they could not move in time. They promptly notified the authorities to have a plan to rescue the trapped people to a safe place.

On the side of Mai Dich Ward People's Committee, forces were mobilized to participate in protecting security and order of Residential Group No. 19 to be present at the scene to coordinate in grasping the situation and deploying fire fighting measures.

Through the drill, the Organizing Committee hopes to contribute to enhancing the ability to respond to and handle fire, explosion, and incident situations of the fire prevention and fighting force at the grassroots level, as well as raising awareness of fire prevention and fighting among the people.

Vice Chairman of Mai Dich Ward People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh said that through the basic investigation in 2025, the ward has 1,096 boarding houses, houses combined with rentals, and more than 1,200 housing establishments combined with businesses.

“With a high population density, a large number of temporary students and tenants, many boarding houses located in deep, narrow alleys that are inaccessible to fire trucks, some boarding house owners and business-related houses have not been aware of overcoming shortcomings in fire prevention and fighting, have not opened a second escape route... making it difficult to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety in the area,” said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh.
