Besides, a notable face also appeared on the list of players summoned this time, that is midfielder Ho Huu Hung, who is currently playing for CU Bohemians Praha club in the Czech Republic's national championship, and has participated in the Czech Republic's U15 and U16 teams.
According to the profile, Ho Huu Hung was born in 2006, has dual citizenship of Vietnam and the Czech Republic. This player has spent 13 years training and playing football in the Central European country. Before playing for CU Bohemians Praha, Ho Huu Hung played for Slovacko from 2011 to 2016 and SK Slavia Praha from 2016 to 2018. Ho Huu Hung's best positions are attacking midfielder and winger.
According to the plan, the Vietnam U19 team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. On July 16, the team will leave for Indonesia to participate in the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship with the official list shortened to 23 players.
The 2024 AFF U19 Championship will take place in Surabaya, Indonesia from July 17 to July 29. Teams will compete in a round-robin format in each group to determine rankings. The top three teams in each group and the best second-placed team in each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The Vietnam U19 team is in Group B with the Laos, Myanmar and Australia U19 teams.
According to the schedule, the Vietnam U19 team will play their opening match against Myanmar U19 on July 18, then against Australia U19 on July 21 and Laos U19 on July 24.
