Among the 89 professor candidates this year, Ms. Do Thi Ha is the only female member of the Pharmacy Department.
Ms. Ha was born in 1976, from Thanh Hoa province. In 2000, Ms. Ha graduated from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, majoring in Pharmacy. In 2010, she received her PhD in Pharmacy from Chungnam National University (Korea). She was appointed as an associate professor at the Institute of Medicinal Materials ( Ministry of Health ) in 2016.
From 2014 to 2020, Ms. Ha was Deputy Head of the Department of Phytochemistry, Institute of Medicinal Materials. She then held the position of Head of the Department for 3 years. From December 2023 to present, she has been Deputy Director of the Institute of Medicinal Materials.
In addition, Ms. Ha also participated in guest lectures at many universities such as Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine.
Her main research interests are “ Discovering medicinal plants with anti-cancer/anti-inflammatory/immunomodulatory activities for application orientation” and “Developing standards for medicinal plants and traditional medicines, studying the effects of medicinal herbs on improving metabolic syndrome of blood sugar and blood lipids”.
After being appointed as Associate Professor, she has chaired 01 State-level project (Protocol), 01 Ministry of Health-level project, 01 Nafosted project, secretary of 01 Provincial-level project, head of a branch of 01 State-level project, and 01 accepted grassroots project. In addition, before being appointed as Associate Professor, the candidate chaired 01 Nafosted project and 01 accepted branch of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Grandma published 179 scientific articles, of which 57 were in prestigious international journals and 122 were in domestic specialized journals. After defending her Associate Professorship, the Candidate published 28 prestigious international articles (19 as the main author or the main responsible author), 88 articles in domestic specialized journals (46 as the main author or the main responsible author). She was granted 01 utility solution patent and published 5 books.
She was awarded the L'Oréal - UNESCO For Women in Science Award for Excellence in Medicine in 2016; and received many certificates of merit and commemorative medals from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Technology, etc.
Two other candidates for professorship in Pharmacy are Mr. Tran Viet Hung, born in 1972, working at the Ho Chi Minh City Drug Testing Institute and Mr. Bui Thanh Tung, born in 1982, working at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
