(Dan Tri) - As a disabled person, American supermodel Bri Scalesse never thought she would find true love, until she met Vietnamese-American man Sheldon Nguyen.
The " fashion icon" couple "Sheldon, he is a different person. He is practical, cool and handsome. That made me realize early on that he is not like other people," said Bri Scalesse, an American model. Bri is a disabled model. She met Sheldon Nguyen (Vietnamese-American) on a dating app in 2019. At that time, luckily Sheldon was a very understanding person. The fact that Bri is in a wheelchair was not a problem for Sheldon.

"I never thought I would date a disabled person. At first I was hesitant, but after understanding each other, Bri and I are very comfortable together. Sometimes we forget the existence of the wheelchair," Sheldon said. The couple said they are compatible in many ways. In particular, both are fashion icons in the US. Therefore, wherever they go, Bri and Sheldon look like a stylish couple. However, while Bri and Sheldon are always sure of their love, outsiders have a different view. Sometimes, some people do not see the mutual relationship the way the couple thinks. Some people even think that the two are not together in terms of true feelings. "Walking on the street, we often see curious eyes from people around. But Sheldon is always by my side, carrying me out of the wheelchair when going down the stairs," Bri confided.

Most memorably, during the Covid-19 outbreak, Bri could not leave the house, which affected her work. At that time, Sheldon became a home photographer, supporting her work a lot. The couple lived together during the quarantine period. During that time, Bri and Sheldon realized that their love story was ready to be taken to the "new level". Because they treated each other not only as husband and wife, but also as close roommates. "He was very patient when I filmed a video 7 times and spent the whole day drinking a cup of tea. We cooked together, danced while brushing our teeth and signed the lease for our first apartment together," the supermodel happily said. The model really wanted to marry Sheldon, thereby proving that people with disabilities are still beautiful and multifaceted people.

"People with disabilities are also capable of experiencing pain and love," Bri confided. In May 2021, Sheldon officially proposed to the supermodel. The two lived under the same roof and had a happy married life. Cruel accident In 1994, Bri was born into a family living in a town in the state of Connecticut. Growing up with a childhood associated with fashion, Bri started learning makeup very early and had a passion for beauty. However, an incident at the age of 6 changed everything. Bri had a car accident and lost her mother forever. The accident also left her paralyzed from the lower body. "I had a level 12 spinal cord injury, which means I was paralyzed on one side and had to use a wheelchair. At that moment, my heart was broken. It changed my life forever," Bri said.

Having gone through physical injuries, the girl could not avoid feeling inferior because she was the only disabled student at school. Bri hid herself and never appeared in the media. "I felt ashamed of being disabled. I thought it would affect my life and the way people around me viewed me," she confided. Life in a wheelchair made Bri feel lonely, angry and exhausted. During that time, what Bri thought was her "first love" was actually pages of paper filled with words. "I started writing songs and poems in my notebook. Writing became my passion, making my emotions overflow," the supermodel recalled. Having gone through difficult high school days, Bri challenged herself even more when she entered college. After graduating from high school, Bri went to study at a private liberal arts academy in Hartford (Connecticut). Here, her writing hobby was taken more seriously. Despite having something to fight for, Bri struggled with self-love. She turned to drugs as a way to escape reality. Through hard work, Bri overcame her addiction and became an excellent student accepted into Columbia University's Master's in Writing program. By the time she was 25, Bri realized her true calling was to become a model.

"Every time I stand in front of the camera, I feel like I represent the disabled community. I prove that we deserve to be represented in the media," Bri determined. With her sharp, sensitive perspective, Bri quickly received a contract to perform at New York Fashion Week. "It was the scariest, but also the most magical experience of my life. I was used to curious, scrutinizing looks. But when I was on the catwalk, they focused their eyes on me and I felt beautiful," Bri described the feeling. From that incredible performance, Bri received more invitations. At the age of 25, the girl became a writer, a model. And most importantly, Bri found true love for herself.
