Notably, in the process of developing local tourism, it is necessary to mention the community tourism model imbued with national cultural identity that is being replicated in this land of rocky mountains. The development of the community tourism cooperative model is considered one of the unique and distinctive ways of developing tourism in Ha Giang in the current context.

On the occasion of experiencing this form when exploring and discovering the majestic, wild, and magnificent beauty of the Ha Giang stone plateau, we had the opportunity to meet a Tay man with the desire to promote Ha Giang with its unique cultural beauty and Ha Giang flavor to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Do Muoi, born in 1988, Director of Quan Ba Community Tourism Cooperative, is a young man with a university degree, good at diplomacy, quick-witted, and knows how to work for the benefit of the villagers, so he was trusted to be elected as Director. Mr. Muoi's Quan Ba Community Tourism Cooperative was established in 2018, and now has 30 members, each member earns an average of 20 million VND/month from homestay tourism services. During the process of formation and operation, Quan Ba Community Tourism Cooperative also encountered many difficulties such as approaching customers; lack of capital to improve capacity for members... However, over time, the Cooperative under the leadership of Mr. Muoi has gradually overcome difficulties and united together to build the tourism image of Nam Dam, because if it cannot welcome guests, poverty will keep running from one house to another and will not run out of the village.

Quanba Taigoo (reading: Quan Ba Tai Go) is a community tourism cooperative located in Nam Dam Community Cultural Tourism Village, Quan Ba, Ha Giang, with the management of 7 members, operated by a young Tay man full of love for his homeland and pride in the cultural identity of ethnic minorities of the rocky plateau Nguyen Do Muoi. The cooperative includes 14 homestays and each homestay can accommodate up to 30 tourists, these homestays are located in Dao ethnic villages and are built in the traditional architectural style of the Dao people with stone foundations, thick earthen walls to ensure coolness in summer and warmth in winter. The system of columns and wooden frames inside is used to divide the rooms in the house.

Coming to Quan Ba Taigoo Community Tourism Cooperative, visitors can easily experience a space imbued with the Dao ethnic identity. Specifically, the homestay area represents a part of the traditional life of the Dao people here. In front of the house is a green vegetable garden, creating a peaceful feeling in contrast to the constantly changing real life. With the dedication and thoughtfulness of the host family, simple but comfortable and convenient rooms await, giving visitors the opportunity to experience a friendly, hospitable life with rich activities. Not only will you enjoy dishes right in the kitchen in front of the house with the attentive care of the family, the dishes are prepared from fresh foods grown locally, bringing the characteristics of the Northeast mountainous region, visitors can also sleep on the 2nd floor of the typical Dao house here with modern amenities such as private bathroom, clean quality bedding, free wifi.

In addition, if you want to explore the life of local people, visitors can participate in their living activities in the way they feel most comfortable such as: cooking with the host using local ingredients; visiting the Quan Ba Historical Museum and traditional handicrafts; trekking from Quan Ba to Lung Khuy cave (7km); participating in picking medicinal leaves, rice, corn, tea leaves and planting activities with Dao guides; experiencing traditional Dao leaf baths; exploring the surroundings by renting bicycles; participating in traditional Dao ceremonies (Cap sac ceremony, fishing, rice offering, praying for harvest, wedding ceremony...)

It can be seen that, with the advantage of being a district of the Stone Plateau with a large number of tourists, it has helped the trade and commerce of cooperatives, including Quan Ba Taigoo Cooperative in Quan Ba district, develop, directly creating revenue for the locality and being a driving force for socio-economic development...

It is known that the district has 48 cooperatives with 851 members, including: 34 agricultural cooperatives; 3 industrial - handicraft cooperatives; 6 construction and construction material exploitation cooperatives; 5 trade and service cooperatives. The total charter capital of the cooperatives is over 54.4 billion VND, the number of employees working regularly in the cooperatives is over 300 people. Up to now, there are 10 cooperatives with products certified by OCOP with a total of 26 products achieving provincial-level stars. Typical products achieving 4 OCOP stars include: Stone Plateau mint honey, glass wallets, long wallets, small linen woven backpacks; 20 products achieving 3-star standards include: Mint honey, forest honey, Xuyen Chi honey; Thanh Van wine, Ban Shan tea, Ban Shan Hong tea, Shan Tuyet Tung Vai tea, Gynostemma pentaphyllum tea, artichoke extract, ginger tea, honeysuckle tea, cardamom powder, etc.

Sharing with us, Mr. Nguyen Do Muoi said that the stilt houses in Nam Dam village (Quan Ba commune, Quan Ba district, Ha Giang) have taken on a new look after only a few years of doing community tourism. The Dao people here have gradually changed their mindset from self-sufficiency to developing tourism services through cooperative models, bringing a prosperous life.

Since 2012, launched by Ha Giang province, Quan Ba district has focused resources on investment, support, and guidance for Nam Dam village to build a model of community cultural tourism village. Up to now, after more than 10 years of implementing the Community Cultural Tourism Village, Nam Dam has achieved many positive results, and the people's lives have been constantly improved. In particular, to promote promotion and create professionalism, the Dao people in Nam Dam have joined the Cooperative.

After 2 years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, by 2022, Quan Ba tourism has seen many improvements when the number of domestic and international visitors to the locality increased again. To promote sustainable development of community tourism, Mr. Muoi has identified discovery tourism and community tourism as the key development direction; therefore, training and developing tourism human resources; diversifying and improving the quality of tourism products and services; paying attention to environmental protection and embellishing tourism resources; preserving the system of historical relics, developing culture combined with restoring traditional craft villages, contributing to enriching tourism resources are of great interest to Mr. Muoi and his colleagues.

At the same time, he also actively promotes tourism, potential, products, and tourism resources to attract tourists to the locality, contributing to creating livelihoods for the people. He said: “Personally, I am nurturing a project to link community cultural activities (especially folk and collective dances according to each ethnic group) in villages during the stopover of the journey to explore indigenous tourism combining many means of transportation, mainly motorbikes. I hope that with this activity, along with the unique local cuisine and unique scenery of Quan Ba in particular and Ha Giang in general, the villages of the Dao, Mong, Tay and our ethnic minorities will fly high, reaching out to the regional and international level”.

Along the journey of discovering the locality by motorbike with this young man who cherishes the desire for sustainable community-based village tourism, we admire even more the determination and dreams and plans that he and his colleagues are planning and implementing day and night, even starting to implement in practice, searching for new and unique stops, combining culture with special local cuisine. We believe that the model of community-based village tourism imbued with the national flavor of this young man will spread widely and fly high and far./.
