Chau Thanh district has made many efforts, closely following the province's direction in the "1 Heart" orientation. However, the district leaders informed that there must be many supporting resources in realizing the major policy.

Determined with core tasks
In the 6 key tasks set out by the District Party Committee in the Resolution 2023, there is a specific task related to the "1 Heart" orientation of the province: Implement Resolution 04 of the Provincial Party Committee and Program 93 of the District Party Committee, focusing on building and developing Chau Thanh district into an industrial and urban center of Hau Giang province. In particular, focusing on implementing planning and compensation, support, and resettlement when reclaiming land for key projects and works in the area, focusing on building Dong Phu commune into Dong Phu town.
Mr. Tran Van Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, informed: To effectively implement the province's orientation, the industrial sector has always received special attention. The district has coordinated with provincial departments and branches to support enterprises in industrial zones and clusters to operate stably and effectively, thereby making industry develop strongly, a "bright spot" in the district's economic development.
Accordingly, the district proactively coordinated with provincial departments and agencies to call for and select investors, establish Phu Tan Industrial Cluster of 50 hectares and implement planning steps for Song Hau 2 Industrial Park with 234 hectares and Dong Phu Industrial Park with 380 hectares. Implement the construction planning of Chau Thanh district area to 2030, with a vision to 2050.
In the urban sector, Dong Phu commune has been built to become a type V urban area, and the project to establish Dong Phu town has been completed, contributing to raising the urbanization rate of the district to 36.5% (an increase of 11.85% compared to 2022), higher than the target set by the province by 2025, the whole province will reach over 32%. Proactively and actively coordinate and support investors to implement 10 urban and rural residential projects, covering an area of 96.3 hectares, with a total investment of VND 2,020 billion from corporate capital (investment) and 20 construction planning projects, covering a total area of 1,415 hectares, with a total investment of VND 20,963 billion (19 announced projects and 1 project under planning).
In particular, there are a number of large-scale projects that, after being recognized as investors and implemented, will clearly change the urban and rural face of the district in the coming time, such as the Mai Dam River New Urban Area of 140 hectares, the Dong Phu Industrial Park New Urban Area and Resettlement Phase 2: 135 hectares, the Hau River Industrial Park New Urban Area and Resettlement Phase 2: 175 hectares, and the Provincial Road 927C New Urban Area with 657.7 hectares.
Need more support resources
Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Chau Thanh District Party Committee, informed: The district always closely follows the orientations, leadership and direction from the province, but in the implementation process, the district still faces many difficulties in resources, so it really needs support from the province, this is the biggest difficulty of the district at present.
According to the recommendations and proposals, the district needs more than 1,118 billion VND to implement works and projects... Specifically, it is recommended to allocate 85 billion VND to carry out procedures for the construction of a new Nguyen Van Quy Secondary School at the new planned location. It is recommended to allocate 921 billion VND to build 3 more resettlement areas to serve the site clearance work for 3 projects: Song Hau 2 Industrial Park, area 380ha, Dong Phu 2 Industrial Park, area 234ha and Phu Tan Industrial Cluster, area 50ha. It is recommended to allocate about 112.5 billion VND to invest in building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, urban civilization and building Chau Thanh district to meet the standards of a new rural district in the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, in a recent working session with the Executive Committee of the Chau Thanh District Party Committee, emphasized: Chau Thanh is facing many opportunities, which is the long-term planning, with the "1 Heart" planning of the province. "1 Heart" is to build and develop Chau Thanh district to become the industrial and urban center of the province, "1 Heart" also means focus, unity, and cooperation in performing tasks, and determination to fulfill the targets of the Provincial Party Committee Resolution. To achieve this goal, the district's recommendations and proposals on resources are legitimate, especially for the implementation of resettlement areas to serve the development of industrial parks and clusters.
The Deputy Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee noted that the district must focus on compensation and resettlement when reclaiming land for construction and projects. Review carefully, in accordance with legal regulations, to gain people's consensus and support. Avoid mistakes and negativity in this work.
