After sacking manager Graham Potter, Chelsea has asked manager Frank Lampard to "fix" the club until the end of this season. Supporting him on the coaching bench is another Chelsea legend, Ashley Cole.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly said: "We are delighted to welcome Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge. He is a Premier League and club legend. As we continue our comprehensive and thorough search for a long-term manager, we want to provide our fans with clarity and stability for the remainder of the season.
We want to give ourselves every chance to succeed. Frank has all the characteristics and qualities we need to get the team there. Chelsea have a big game against Wolves on Saturday, followed by a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid. The club will give Frank all their support as we aim to get the best results in the remaining matches of the club."
Currently, Chelsea is only ranked 11th in the Premier League with 39 points, 11 points behind the group participating in the European Cup. With the current situation, winning a ticket to the Europa League can also be considered a great success for Chelsea.
After leaving Chelsea in 2021, Lampard took a year off before taking the job at Everton. However, the Toffees' poor performance led to his dismissal in January this year.
Lampard is a Chelsea legend.
Lampard's return is expected to help Chelsea regain some of the fans' trust after a period of turmoil. Lampard is someone who understands the team's philosophy and can develop young players well.
From now until the end of the season, Chelsea will be looking for a coach to lead the team long-term. Among them, two coaches Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino have emerged as the leading candidates for the "hot seat" of the club.
