Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen, Editor-in-Chief of Banking Times, delivered the opening speech at the Forum.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Forum: “Connecting Green Credit – Green Industrial Parks”, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen, Editor-in-Chief of Banking Times, affirmed that the Forum is a particularly meaningful event as this is the first forum organized by Banking Times in the area. The choice of Da Nang as the starting point is not accidental, but stems from the fact that this is one of the typical localities in the effort to green industrial parks.

Within the framework of this important forum, we will briefly answer three core questions: Why are we organizing this forum? What is the forum organized for? And what do we expect after the forum?

First of all, regarding the question "Why organize the Forum?", Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen said that after the merger of three units, the State Bank of Vietnam Electronic Information Portal, Banking Times and Banking Magazine in the spirit of Resolution 18 of the Central Committee, Banking Times has continuously consolidated and strengthened the role of communicating policies of the banking sector. One of the important functions of the unit is to organize events, promptly grasp issues of public concern, thereby strengthening the role of advising and proposing these issues to the State Bank's Board of Directors.

“We hope to become an effective information channel, supporting state management agencies in the process of building and perfecting policies,” Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen affirmed.

For that reason, the theme "Connecting Green Credit - Green Industrial Parks" was chosen for this forum. This is a major, consistent policy of the Party and State in the goal of developing a green economy . We constantly hear the phrase "green" in all fields, from green economy, green transformation to green credit..., all of which aim at the ultimate goal of protecting the environment and implementing the Government's strong commitment at COP 26 on Net Zero - reducing net emissions to zero. One of the urgent tasks we are facing is to protect the living environment and realize this challenging emission reduction target.

We are all clearly aware that industrial zones are currently one of the major sources of emissions, causing significant impacts on the environment. Therefore, greening industrial zones is not only a solution but also a practical action, contributing to environmental protection, realizing the correct policy of the Party and State.

On the banking sector side, under the close direction of the Governor of the State Bank, credit institutions have been continuously promoting green credit activities. This is a remarkable effort, demonstrating the cooperation of the banking sector in implementing the policies of the Party, State, Government and Prime Minister on environmental protection and the goal of reducing net emissions to zero.

Second, what is the Forum organized for? The Editor-in-Chief of Banking Times shared that the main goal of the Forum "Connecting Green Credit - Green Industrial Parks" is to create an open, multi-dimensional dialogue space between managers, experts, businesses and stakeholders. The Forum is honored to have the participation of prestigious speakers, who have extensive experience in the field of green credit and sustainable industrial park development.

Through this forum, the Organizing Committee hopes to listen to and learn valuable experiences, good models, and effective methods in greening industrial zones and promoting green credit. We will fully synthesize this information and send it to the State Bank's Board of Directors, contributing to providing practical bases for policy development and adjustment.

In particular, at the forum, representatives of some departments and functional agencies of the State Bank will also directly provide specific information and clear data evidence on the implementation of green credit for green development in general and green industrial zones in particular. This will help us have a more objective and comprehensive view of the efforts and results achieved.

Finally, what do we expect after the Forum? On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen hopes that the Forum "Connecting Green Credit - Green Industrial Parks" will be an important milestone, creating a strong spread of awareness and action in the business community, especially investors and businesses operating in industrial parks.

The participation of a large number of journalists and reporters today plays an extremely important role in conveying information, experiences, and policies on greening industrial zones to the general public. Together, we will clarify the opportunities, challenges, difficulties, and feasible solutions in this green transition process.

“We believe that the sharing and discussion at the forum will help replicate effective green industrial park models across the country. We will learn from each other and find suitable directions that many other industrial parks can apply, contributing to the successful implementation of sustainable development goals,” Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen affirmed.

Within the framework of the forum, we also look forward to insightful instructions from Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu, who always pays special attention to the field of green growth and sustainable development of the banking industry.

“These guidelines will be the compass, guiding us in changing our thinking and actions, determined to successfully implement the policies of the Party, State and Government in the process of greening the economy,” Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen affirmed.
