Looking back at the success of the "Future Pieces" Campaign for Vietnamese children

The Future Pieces Campaign is a comprehensive solution with the goal of painting a bright future for Vietnamese children in the following aspects: Child Protection -Education - Health - Nutrition - Environment - Social Policy and Public Administration, co-organized by DoubleU and UNICEF. Through this, each of us can contribute a piece to create a complete picture to ensure that every child receives comprehensive care and support, education and protection - preparing them for a fulfilling future. (Photo: Harper's Bazaar Vietnam)[/caption] Currently, many children are still affected by many factors, problems persist and inequalities are deepening as a result of the pandemic. Important areas include access to clean water, child nutrition, protection from violence and abuse, mental health and a more comprehensive education system to equip children with the skills they need to succeed in the digital age. In addition, the climate crisis and environmental pollution are threatening the lives and development of children. “Through this campaign, UNICEF wants to highlight that while Viet Nam continues to promote children’s rights, there are still many children who are at risk of being left behind – those living in remote areas, those from ethnic minorities; those facing inequality, disability or discrimination. If we do not act today, these children will not have the opportunity to grow up healthy and happy, and will not be able to develop the skills they need for adulthood,” said Ms. Rana Flowers, UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam. “ UNICEF wants to raise awareness and inspire communities to join hands to create an environment where children can develop fully and reach their full potential. Joining hands and implementing innovative solutions can change the lives of children and the future of communities. If we do not act, inequalities will continue to grow.” In the campaign, UNICEF introduced an Action Box containing creative and simple paper collage ideas. UNICEF Messengers for Action, who are influential individuals, along with the Friends of UNICEF community and young people, were invited to join UNICEF in envisioning a brighter future for children. The works were created during the exhibition in October 2023. Visitors to the exhibition said they had a meaningful experience, as well as gained deeper insights into solving the pressing issues facing children. (Photo: Harper's Bazaar Vietnam)[/caption] Throughout the campaign, UNICEF Messengers of Action, including Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H'Hen Nie, Miss World Vietnam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh, Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, world-class athletes Anh Vien and Nguyen Thi Oanh, STEM teacher Dao Thi Hong Quyen, MC Quoc Khanh, singers Dong Nhi, Min, Chi Pu and musician Mew Amazing, among others, actively supported the campaign on social media platforms. Chi Pu said she was honored to be a Messenger of Action in this campaign. “Childhood development plays an important role with a lasting impact on each person as an adult. If a child’s current foundation is built with inappropriate pieces, their future will be filled with gaps that are difficult to fill with long-term consequences. Everyone was once a child, so I want to raise awareness with everyone to support, protect and nurture children in a scientific way.” Celebrities and KoLs share messages to raise social awareness of the challenges children are facing and call for a community of strong advocates for children’s rights.
