Exploiting natural resources and traditional cultural values, bringing bio-safe agriculture associated with the development of experiential tourism, in 2022, the Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with the Son La City Farmers' Association to choose Chieng Co commune to build a bio-safe agricultural model in the organic direction associated with agricultural experiential tourism in Hun village with 3 participating member households. The members have made models of fish pond areas, fishing huts, floating houses, dining areas, check-in areas... The space is designed in harmony with nature, along with indigenous culture to help visitors immerse themselves in a fresh environment, close to the lives of the people.

Mr. Ca Van Pan, Hun village, Chieng Co commune, said: During the implementation of the model, we were supported by Farmers' Associations at all levels in terms of capital, facilities, and equipment, such as: building some signs, billboards, welcome gates, product display shelves, building huts, regulations, garbage trucks, seeds, materials, etc. to implement the model. In addition, we were also instructed in management skills, communication skills, picking up and dropping off guests, guiding, explaining, serving food, accommodation, and performing arts; knowledge related to the preservation and promotion of cultural values, natural landscapes, local products, etc. Since then, we have been more proactive in production, more dynamic in promoting and introducing the consumption of the products we make.

After 3 years of implementation, the model of developing ecological agriculture associated with experiential tourism in Chieng Co commune has shown positive results, becoming a favorite destination for many tourists. On average, it welcomes 100 to 150 visitors per week. Coming here, visitors can not only enjoy the scenery but also immerse themselves in the living space of the local people, learn about customs and enjoy typical dishes.

Coming to Na Phum eco-tourism site in Chieng Co commune with friends, Mr. Vu Duc Hanh, group 7, Chieng Le ward, shared: With the current speed of urbanization, eco-tourism sites close to nature are becoming less and less. Na Phum tourist site is a familiar place for my family on weekends. Coming here, we can walk on small roads around the village and enjoy specialties such as bamboo rice, grilled fish, feeling very relaxed, peaceful, and close to nature.

Ecotourism model preserves indigenous cultural identity.

Currently, the model has helped workers have stable jobs and income. In the coming time, member households will continue to maintain and expand the model area, coordinate with households in the village to continue researching the production of quality, branded agricultural products to associate with experiential tourism; focus on protecting the environment, natural landscapes while preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity.
