Ben Thanh Market is one of the famous landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City, construction began in 1912. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has plans to restore this iconic market.

On November 20, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision to rank the Ben Thanh Market Architectural and Artistic Relic (located at the South Gate of the Market, Le Loi Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1) as a city-level relic.

Along with that, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also decided to rank the architectural and artistic relic of the Temple of Saint Tran Hung Dao, at 36 Vo Thi Sau Street (Tan Dinh Ward, District 1), as a city-level relic.

According to the decision, the relic protection area is determined according to the minutes and maps zoning the relic protection areas in the relic records.

In addition, on this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also decided to rank as city-level relics the architectural and artistic relic of the headquarters of the District 1 People's Committee, located at 45-47 Le Duan Street (Ben Nghe Ward, District 1), the architectural and artistic relic of the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, located at 2 Ham Nghi Street and 21 Ton Duc Thang Street (Ben Nghe Ward, District 1) and the architectural and artistic relic of the Tomb of the Inspector General of the Ministry of War, Thua Vu Lang of the Tran family, located at alley 113 Tran Van Dang Street (Ward 11, District 3).

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports and the People's Committees of local districts and wards to carry out State management of relics according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.
