Female teacher fired for repeatedly hitting student's hand with ruler

(Dan Tri) - A teacher in Gia Lai had his contract terminated after hitting a student with a ruler. The school also apologized to the parents and cooperated with authorities to handle the incident.

On November 11, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quan, Principal of Anh Hung Nup High School, To Tung Commune, Gia Lai Province, said that a decision had been made to terminate the teacher who beat the student.

Previously, parents complained that teacher PTHB (born 2003, contract chemistry teacher at Anh Hung Nup High School, To Tung commune) repeatedly used a ruler to hit students' hands during class.

Regarding this, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quan said the incident happened on the morning of November 3. During a chemistry class in class 10A, Ms. B. called some students to the board to do an exercise.

Any student who answered incorrectly or did not complete the exercise, Ms. B. would use a ruler to hit her hand many times. A clip of the incident was sent to the school by a parent.

According to the principal of Anh Hung Nup High School, Ms. B. recently graduated from the University of Education. The female teacher and the students had an agreement that if anyone did not do their homework, they would be hit on the hand. After receiving the complaint, the school held a meeting and decided to terminate Ms. B.'s employment contract.

“The school held a meeting and I personally apologized to the parents and students of the entire school for the teacher’s violations. We are also coordinating with the authorities to verify and properly handle related issues,” Mr. Quan said.
