The event is aimed at 8th and 9th grade students, helping them to intuitively access career information, learn about the learning environment and job opportunities, thereby determining their learning path and choosing a suitable career direction in the future.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized: “Career guidance and orientation is not only a part of the general education program, but also a strategic responsibility of the education sector for human resource development. The festival not only introduces careers but also helps students identify themselves, understand their strengths and the actual conditions of the labor market so that they can make proactive and accurate decisions.”

2025 is the second year that Ho Chi Minh City organizes a series of vocational education and recruitment fairs, and is also the first year that the City's education sector directly directs the implementation after taking over the state management function of vocational education from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
“This is an important milestone, affirming the role of the education sector in perfecting a transparent and data-based career guidance ecosystem, creating conditions for students to access career options in a more scientific way,” said Ms. Hai Thanh.

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee designed many career experience spaces such as a display area for professional practice equipment, a product model area, an interactive area simulating the training environment at secondary schools and colleges, a psychological counseling and career guidance area according to student capacity groups, and the activity of "scanning codes to see careers" according to each field cluster.
More than 60 vocational training institutions in the city have registered to participate in this year's series of activities. Letting students "touch" the practical equipment and experience it directly will help them understand the nature of the profession and the skill requirements, thereby forming choices based on real-life experiences, instead of emotions or family habits.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh, admissions consultant of Saigontourist School, shared: “The fair helps students get closer to real job opportunities. The tourism and hotel industry is currently growing strongly in Vietnam and when students are introduced to and experience bartending, baking or hotel and restaurant operations, they will easily realize whether they are suitable for the profession or not. Early career guidance helps students have a clearer direction after graduating from secondary school.”
Minh Thu, a student of class 9A10 at Tran Van On Secondary School, also said: “Before coming to the festival, I did not have a clear picture of my future careers. But when I attended, listened to the introduction and experienced the real world, I felt very interested and understood more about the career requirements that are suitable for my abilities.”

The Festival Series aims at three key goals: Improving the effectiveness of career guidance and streaming in general education, contributing to improving the quality of vocational education by 2030, with a vision to 2045; Training and developing high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of career restructuring and labor market needs in Ho Chi Minh City by 2025, with a vision to 2030, and equipping students with knowledge, skills and practical experience, helping them choose a career path after secondary school that is appropriate to their abilities, needs and labor trends.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh affirmed: “We hope that after participating in the Festival, students will have more data, perspectives and motivation to make learning decisions based on their knowledge and actual abilities. That is also the goal the City is pursuing, effective streaming, right people, right abilities, right social needs”.

With this orientation, the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Admission and Career Guidance Day 2025 is expected to become a practical activity, contributing to the implementation of the policy of innovation and improvement of the quality of vocational education, strengthening the division of students after junior high school and high school, aiming to develop human resources to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization of Ho Chi Minh City in the new period.
