Christie dropped out of the race just days before Iowa’s Republican primary, and he had the support of just 2% of Republicans in a Reuters/Ipsos national poll released on Tuesday.

Former US President Trump is leading the race to become the Republican Party's nominee for the November 2024 election, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. The poll shows Trump with 49% support, followed by former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley with 12% and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with 11%.
Speaking at a town hall event in New Hampshire, Mr Christie, 61, said he no longer saw a path forward for his campaign.
Mr Christie, who has frequently attacked former President Donald Trump, added that he pledged "to never let him become president again".
He criticized his Republican rivals for not daring to confront Mr. Trump directly, and has not expressed support for any of the party's candidates.
Since launching his campaign in June, Mr. Christie has become a staple on cable news shows delivering harsh criticism of Mr. Trump, calling him unfit for office and holding him responsible for the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Mr Christie’s withdrawal removes Mr Trump’s most vocal opponent from the race, although former Governor Nikki Haley has also been critical of Mr Trump in recent weeks.
Mr. Christie has repeatedly predicted that former President Trump would likely lose the general election to Democratic President Joe Biden, due to four criminal cases hanging over his campaign.
