Recently, cross-border trade and tourism activities in the province have been bustling, which means that there are a lot of people and tourists coming to the province. Along with that, erratic weather, environmental factors... are favorable conditions that increase the risk of spreading infectious diseases. In order to strengthen disease prevention and control and proactively implement timely disease prevention measures, from the beginning of the year, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to prevent infectious diseases in humans. The plan sets out a number of specific goals such as: controlling 100% of Covid-19 outbreaks if detected and handled promptly; not allowing major outbreaks of dengue fever to occur, and not having any deaths from seasonal diseases...
To proactively prevent and control the epidemic, the provincial health sector regularly carries out monitoring activities, focusing on high-risk areas such as border gates, in the community, medical facilities... to proactively detect early cases of the disease and prepare measures for timely isolation, admission and treatment.
Health declaration of people entering and leaving the country is strictly implemented.
Currently, the Ministry of Health believes that the rapid increase in the number of Covid-19 infections in Thailand coincides with the time and incubation period after the traditional New Year, most likely due to the increase in large gatherings and the increase of the XBB.1.16 sub-variant.
According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, along with the proactive implementation of epidemic prevention work by the authorities, to prevent infectious diseases in general, Covid-19 in particular, people need to take good measures such as: wearing masks in public places; limiting gatherings in crowded places (if not necessary); washing hands regularly with clean water, soap or antiseptic solution; increasing physical activity, training, proper nutrition; when having symptoms of fever, cough, difficulty breathing, go immediately to the nearest medical facility for timely examination, monitoring and treatment...
