On the morning of August 2nd, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for the project "Summary of 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW dated April 10, 2013 of the Politburo on international integration" (Steering Committee), chaired the first online meeting of the Steering Committee. Mr. Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the meeting at the Thai Binh branch.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Decision No. 534/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Steering Committee for the project "Summary of 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW dated April 10, 2013 of the Politburo on international integration" and Decision No. 33/QD-BCDTKHNQT of the Steering Committee on the promulgation of the Steering Committee's operational regulations; they also presented the draft report summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution 22 and the work carried out to date in preparation for the summary of the Resolution.

From 2013 to the present, Vietnam has upgraded relations with 7 countries to strategic partnerships or comprehensive strategic partnerships and 7 countries to comprehensive partnerships, contributing to the creation of a network of strategic and comprehensive partnerships with 33 countries, including all major powers; officially participating in peacekeeping activities; and extensively participating in many FTAs ​​and new-generation, high-standard trade linkages such as CPTPP and EVFTA... contributing to consolidating and strengthening a favorable and open foreign policy landscape for national development. In 2022, the total value of Vietnam's exports and imports reached US$730 billion. The Vietnamese national brand had the fastest growth rate in value in the world during the 2019-2022 period, reaching US$431 billion in 2022...

Also at the meeting, leaders of several ministries, sectors, and localities reported and clarified further the achievements, lessons learned, challenges, and directions until 2030 in implementing the strategy of international integration and foreign affairs in the fields of defense, security, order, culture, society, science, technology, and education and training...

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee, affirmed: This document has strategic orientation significance, marking an important shift in the Party and State's thinking on international integration; unifying understanding and action in the period when our country is beginning to strongly shift from "international economic integration" to "proactive and comprehensive international integration" in all fields, from politics, national defense, security to culture, society, science and technology, education and training... Therefore, the implementation of Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW over the past 10 years has brought about three major changes for the country: in terms of awareness, action and the country's position and potential.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the shortcomings, limitations, and lessons learned in the implementation of Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW; and at the same time requested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to think about and creatively apply the three pillars in building and protecting the country, including: building a socialist democracy, building a socialist rule of law state, and developing a socialist-oriented market economy; continue to implement and concretize the independent, self-reliant, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy, being a good friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community; build an independent and self-reliant economy associated with proactive and active deep, substantive, and effective international integration; implement the "four no's" national defense policy; and make integration a truly powerful driving force to maintain a peaceful and stable environment, leading the country to rapid and sustainable development.

To further accelerate the progress of the review process, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the permanent agency, the inter-ministerial editorial team, and relevant agencies to identify very specific tasks, duties, content, and timelines for implementation.
