Continuing the creative inspiration about Him

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, writer Nguyen The Ky completed and released the complete novel "Nuoc non van dam" about the image of Uncle Ho. This is a work of passion that the author has cherished, prepared and carried out for 20 years, through meticulous and serious research on history, politics and culture; through experience and accumulation of life experience over many years in his hometown Nghe An and many other regions in and outside the country.

The novel series consists of 5 volumes, depicting the image of President Ho Chi Minh in historical periods: “Debt to the country” (1890-1911), “Drifting four seas” (1911-1941), “From Viet Bac to Hanoi ” (1941-1945), “Road to Dien Bien” (1945-1954), “Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh” (1954-1969). “Nuoc non van dam” is the first novel series of contemporary Vietnamese literature to fully and deeply reflect the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.

In the field of theater, the two plays “White Night” and “The Man in Rubber Sandals” by the Vietnam Drama Theater left a deep impression on the audience. “White Night” by author Luu Quang Ha, directed by People’s Artist Xuan Bac, shines a light on the image of the great leader of the nation with the humanistic message “Punishment to educate”. Meanwhile, “The Man in Rubber Sandals” by author Kateb Yacine, directed by Le Manh Hung, depicts the image of President Ho Chi Minh from the perspective of an ordinary, simple but great person, leading the nation to victory. The two works are currently in the “May with Him” performance period, receiving enthusiastic support from the audience.

During the May days of remembering Uncle Ho, the Vietnam Circus Federation launched the program "Lotus" combining circus arts and songs about him, praising President Ho Chi Minh and the symbol of the Vietnamese lotus, at the Central Circus.

Released in 2024 and currently being shown for free nationwide in the film campaign commemorating the 135th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday, the feature film "Moon of Childhood" (directed by Meritorious Artist Ho Ngoc Xum) recreates Uncle Ho's childhood and the years he lived in the imperial city of Hue. The film incorporates artistic elements, emphasizing the sacred maternal love, which has moved the audience. The documentary "Paints from the Heart" by director Nguyen Tu Duc, recently released, depicts the noble qualities of President Ho Chi Minh through typical paintings, expressed with the simplicity, intelligence and deep patriotism of the artists.

Continuing the flow of musical compositions about the image of Ho Chi Minh that have been successful in recent years, Hanoi musicians are full of inspiration to release new works with the approach and sound of today's era. For example, the songs: "Pac Bo Flame" (Cat Van), "White Flower Mango Road" (musician Tran Vu Trang, based on To Huu's poem), "Dream Star" (Trong Luu), "Still Here Are Uncle's Words" (Tran Viet Hung), "Visiting Sen Village" (Quang Hien)...

Spreading his legacy through his works

New literary and artistic works about President Ho Chi Minh continue to be published, showing that he is always an endless source of inspiration and subject for artists. There have been many great literary and artistic works about Uncle Ho that have been recognized by the public and deeply engraved in their minds, but writer Nguyen The Ky still boldly embarks on the journey with the desire to continue to enrich the treasure trove of works about him. He shared that he started writing the novel “Nuoc son van dam” out of his extremely sacred love and respect for Uncle Ho.

What is special is that today's artists are constantly innovating their ways of expression, approaching more diversely when composing about the image of Uncle Ho. For example, the play "White Night" staged by People's Artist Xuan Bac has a modern storytelling and acting style, the dialogue is also close to today's audience. People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, believes that expressing big topics such as the Party, Uncle Ho, revolution... through circus art will help the audience approach in a natural, vivid way and leave more impressions.

As the director of the film “Sketches from the Heart”, director Nguyen Tu Duc expressed: “Making a film about President Ho Chi Minh is a sacred and challenging task, especially for a young director. Portraying the image of Uncle Ho in a way that is both close and authentic while still maintaining respect and historical value requires carefulness and deep understanding”. The crew researched, read many documents and met with the characters to make the film.

With deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh, artists have been enriching literary and artistic creations about him. Through their works, they contribute to spreading his precious heritage widely, fueling the tradition for today's young generation to learn and follow his example, building a strong country in the new era as his will.
