As part of his official visit to Vietnam from July 24-31, today, Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament Gerry Brownlee visited KOTO restaurant - a non-profit social enterprise famous for its vocational training program for disadvantaged youth in Vietnam.

Here, he personally prepared "beef wrapped in betel leaves" - a rustic, familiar dish in Vietnamese cuisine .

The Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament was excited about this experience and listened attentively to the KOTO chef's introduction of how to prepare the dish: "New Zealand beef combined with Vietnamese fish sauce and wrapped in heart-shaped betel leaves is a symbolic image of the close and lasting relationship between the two countries."

After the instructions, Speaker Brownlee personally seasoned and rolled the lolot rolls. With his existing cooking skills, he performed the steps very skillfully, without any difficulty.
