The General Secretary was pleased to see the strong development of Vietnam - New Zealand relations, in which political trust is the foundation for the two countries to enhance cooperation.

The economies of Vietnam and New Zealand are complementary, and the potential for cooperation is still huge. The two countries need to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, create conditions for strong products, and aim for a two-way trade turnover of 3 billion USD.
General Secretary To Lam said that cultural, educational and people-to-people cooperation is an important pillar. New Zealand has welcomed a large number of Vietnamese students to study and train in English and other majors.
The General Secretary suggested that the two sides soon promote direct flights as well as visa procedures to facilitate travel.
