National Assembly Chairman meets voters in Hau Giang

NDO - On the afternoon of April 18, Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly, had a meeting with voters before the 9th session of the 15th tenure in Hau Giang province, with the participation of more than 400 voters.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hau Giang Province Le Thi Thanh Lam informed voters about the important contents expected for the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly; reported on the activities of the National Assembly Delegation of Hau Giang Province since the 8th session; and the results of handling voters' petitions.

The conference also recorded 8 opinions and suggestions from voters for the development of the locality and the country.

Voters expressed their agreement with the policy of rearranging the organizational apparatus and establishing a two-level government; they assessed that the Government 's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses clearly demonstrated the humanity of the Party and State.

Voters suggested paying attention to the arrangement of staff, as well as the use of facilities after the arrangement to ensure suitability and efficiency, avoiding waste of resources.

Along with that, the province needs to pay attention to implementing social security policies well; especially promoting administrative reform and digital transformation, to create more favorable conditions for people and businesses. Pay attention to promptly resolving policies for civil servants and public employees affected by the rearrangement. For affected part-time staff, there should also be appropriate policies, and it is possible to consider re-arranging this force...

Speaking at the conference, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the voters' sense of responsibility, and fully acknowledged their heartfelt recommendations and will present them at the upcoming session.

The National Assembly Chairman informed that this 9th session has a much larger workload than previous sessions. The session is expected to open on May 5 and close on June 30, 2025.

The content of the session focused on amending the 2013 Constitution, only amending 8 out of 120 Articles of the Constitution to serve the purpose of streamlining the apparatus. This is a major, unprecedented revolution, aiming to streamline the apparatus, ensuring strong, efficient, effective and efficient operations. The goal of streamlining the apparatus is to create space for development, facilitating the settlement of administrative procedures for people and businesses.

It is this streamlining of the apparatus that will create more resources for investment in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security; and building a clean and strong political system. Also at this session, 33 Laws and over 20 Resolutions related to apparatus organization and socio-economic development will be passed.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: “Without the people, what can the Party do? Without the Party, what can the people do?”; “Without the people, it is a hundred times easier to endure; with the people, it is ten thousand times harder to overcome.” Therefore, with the importance of this session, it is recommended that the political system be informed, hoping for the people’s agreement and support.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that Hau Giang and Soc Trang should coordinate with Can Tho to establish a Steering Committee, immediately prepare documents for Can Tho city under the Central Government (after the merger); personnel; planning; arrangement of cadres, ensuring to meet requirements when the amended Constitution takes effect from July 1, 2025, moving towards organizing Party Congresses at all levels.

At the same time, it is important to note that during the process of restructuring the organizational apparatus, it is necessary to ensure continuous, smooth, and uninterrupted operations; this year's socio-economic targets must be guaranteed. The economic growth of Can Tho, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang must reach more than 8%. Effectively implement Directive 45 dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo on directing Party Congresses at all levels.

The National Assembly Chairman presented gifts to people with revolutionary contributions.

Hau Giang needs to launch an emulation movement to celebrate major anniversaries, associated with Party Congresses at all levels, towards the National Party Congress; election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

Hau Giang focuses on accelerating disbursement progress to promote investment efficiency; focusing on digital transformation, AI (artificial intelligence) application; applying science and technology to agricultural production, high technology.

Continue to improve the quality of education and training, science and technology, improve the quality of human resources, meet the requirements and tasks in the new era of the country.

For the surplus headquarters after the arrangement set by voters, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the top priority should be to use them for education and training; health care for the people; as a place for people to live, not to leave the headquarters abandoned, vacant, causing waste.

Previously, the National Assembly Chairman visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa (born in 1930) in Area 2, Ward 5, Vi Thanh City; presented 50 gifts to people with revolutionary contributions in Vi Thuy District, Long My District and Vi Thanh City, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
