Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau suggested that the Vietnam - Japan Experts Association and relevant units of the province soon have specific discussions to realize the cooperation contents between the two sides.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Dang Xuan, Professor at Hiroshima University, Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Specialist Association (VJS), Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in South Central Japan; representatives of many relevant departments, agencies and branches of the province and representatives of a number of Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises connected by VJS.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau informed about some features of Hai Duong 's potential and advantages in attracting investment.

Hai Duong has convenient transportation infrastructure, very close to Hai Phong international seaport, close connection to Noi Bai international airport ( Hanoi ), in addition, Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh) is under construction. Hai Duong's labor force is skilled and willing to learn. In addition, the province is promoting the development of the logistics sector.

Expressing his impression with the sharing about the need to learn and cooperate in investment of Japanese enterprises, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau requested VJS to provide more specific and detailed information in the coming time; coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors of the province to research and develop flexible cooperation plans. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau hopes that Hai Duong, VJS and related enterprises and units will soon establish a contact point and exchange more detailed information to specify the investment cooperation needs stated at the meeting; assign the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Head of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to coordinate with VJS.

Professor Tran Dang Xuan affirmed that immediately after the working session, a contact group will be established to discuss specific contents and cooperation plans.

At the meeting, Professor Tran Dang Xuan briefly introduced the development of Hiroshima province, one of the five key economic regions of Japan. In particular, this is a locality with strengths in the semiconductor industry, with 99 enterprises operating in the semiconductor field, possessing modern technology. VJS will encourage these enterprises to come to learn and invest in the province in the near future.

In addition, VJS representative also said that many Japanese enterprises are interested in and have the need to learn and cooperate in investing in the field of cold storage, applications in preserving agricultural products; shipbuilding; environmental treatment, especially technology for treating oil spills, chemical leaks, and toxic wastewater.

Hiroshima University (HU, ranked in the top 10 universities in Japan) is implementing a semiconductor engineering training program for Vietnam, expected to start in October 2027. According to the training program, students will study in English for 2 years at HU and 2 years at the University of Idaho (UI).

Through that, VJS representative hopes to cooperate with Hai Duong education sector in recruiting students according to the above program.

In the field of high-tech agriculture, Hai Duong is a locality with strengths, from diverse agricultural products to connecting transport infrastructure, close to seaports. Therefore, according to VJS's assessment, the opportunities for investment cooperation and trade promotion in this field are very potential.

In the context of Japan's increasingly aging population, favorable conditions are opening up, creating many opportunities to bring highly skilled workers from Vietnam in general, and Hai Duong in particular, to Japan. In that context, Hai Duong is one of the leading localities in the country with a highly qualified, studious, and hard-working workforce, which will be an advantage when working in Japan.

VJS has a close relationship with Taiwan (China). Many Taiwanese enterprises are interested in investing in Vietnam in general and Hai Duong in particular. Taiwan is also a potential market for Hai Duong agricultural products.

Professor Tran Dang Xuan affirmed that right after the working session, VJS will establish a contact group as proposed by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau to realize the expected cooperation contents.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Iri Kazuaki, General Director of Dentsu Kensetsu Company (Kagoshima, Japan) briefly introduced the company; at the same time highly appreciated the high-quality human resources of Vietnam. In the process of development in Vietnam, in addition to the offices opened in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, this company is researching to open an office in Hai Duong, hoping to receive support from the province in this matter.

The meeting was held based on a written request from the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan), to promote investment cooperation of Japanese enterprises, especially enterprises from Kagoshima and Hiroshima provinces, in Hai Duong.

Through this, the aim is to exchange, learn about investment opportunities and open more branch offices in Hai Duong of Dentsu Kensetsu Company (a business in the field of consulting, construction design, with offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City); learn about cooperation and investment opportunities of Japanese enterprises in the province, especially in the fields of food production, high-tech agriculture, deep processing, investment in industrial parks, along with other trade promotion and business connection opportunities.
