The 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is expected to be held over 3 days: October 16, 17, 18, 2024, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi .
On September 5, the 10th Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , term IX, 2019-2024, took place in Hanoi.
Member of the Politburo , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien chaired the Conference.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Do Van Chien said that the organization of the 10th Central Committee Conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front aims to focus on discussing and agreeing on a number of very important contents within the authority to prepare for the successful organization of the 10th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front said that implementing Directive 22-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels towards the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Standing Committee have concretized it into a Project, Plan and specific instructions; closely coordinated with Party committees at all levels to direct the organization of the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, basically achieving the goals and requirements set out in Directive 22-CT/TW.
To date, the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the commune, district and provincial levels have been completed (Ho Chi Minh City will hold the Congress in mid-September 2024, completing the organization of the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels).
"The Congress of the Fatherland Front at all levels is truly a political activity of profound social significance, receiving the attention of all classes of people, close direction from Party committees at all levels, and has made a very important contribution to consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc in the new revolutionary period," Mr. Do Van Chien affirmed.
The draft Political Report submitted to the Congress has been widely consulted both within and outside the Front system. The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Document Subcommittee have received thousands of dedicated and responsible comments contributing to the report.
The Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has reported to the competent authority and asked for instructions. The Document Subcommittee and the Standing Committee have directed the reception and explanation of comments and asked for the Presidium's opinions. So far, it has basically been completed. At today's meeting, it will be submitted to the Committee for comments to receive and finalize for submission to the 10th Congress.

At the Conference, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha presented a report asking for opinions on the contents of a number of draft documents to be submitted to the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term (Political report, Term review report, program, working regulations).
Regarding the process of drafting the Political Report, Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that the process of drafting, receiving and completing the Political Report was conducted methodically, meticulously and scientifically, with extensive consultation in many steps and rounds through many drafts and received thousands of comments (from draft 1 to draft 3 of the Political Report); comments were sought from the 18th, 19th and 20th Presidium Conferences and the 9th Committee Conference.
The Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has submitted a report to the Secretariat for comments on the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029.
At the meeting on August 16, 2024, the Secretariat unanimously acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership, direction and guidance of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in successfully organizing the congresses of the Front at all levels; seriously, thoroughly and thoughtfully prepared the contents of documents, personnel plans, Congress programs, and other factors to ensure the organization of the 10th Congress and basically agreed on the content of the report and proposals and recommendations in the Submission.
Based on the document of the Party Central Office informing the Secretariat's opinion on the content of the Congress organization; on the basis of comments at the Secretariat meeting; of the Central agencies and organizations on the draft Congress Documents; comments at conferences, seminars, from localities and other opinions, the Standing Committee has absorbed and supplemented the draft Political Report. At the same time, it has built appendices on typical and outstanding figures and results of member organizations and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of localities to illustrate the Political Report.
Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that on September 4, 2024, at the 20th Conference of the Presidium of the 9th tenure, most opinions expressed recognition and appreciation for the process of building, receiving, and perfecting the draft Political Report. Many opinions assessed that the draft report was of high quality; highly general, with a consistent assessment throughout the term, with depth, accurate goals and targets, which is the basis for ensuring the implementation process and easy post-auditing.
The opinions suggested that the draft Political Report should continue to be improved in terms of: the congress theme to cover all elements associated with the overall goal of national development and the role and responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; continue to reflect the real and profound mood of society, the Party's will, the people's hearts, and the challenges facing the great national unity bloc; evaluate outstanding results in social supervision and criticism work; continue to consider lessons learned; complete early to organize widespread public opinion gathering through the Front's main information channels.../.
