Art program to celebrate the 100th birthday of Musician Phan Huynh Dieu

Meeting with the press to inform about the art program celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Musician Phan Huynh Dieu (November 11, 1924 - November 11, 2024)

Speaking at the program, Major General, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, commented that musician Phan Huynh Dieu is a giant of revolutionary music , a musical soul that has left a deep mark on the hearts of Vietnamese people. His works, like colorful sound paintings, have painted a vivid portrait of the country and people of Vietnam through the ups and downs of history. Each melody, each lyric contains a part of his soul, a deep love for his homeland, country and people.

With his innate talent and endless creativity, Musician Phan Huynh Dieu has elevated folk melodies, folk songs, and familiar lullabies into immortal musical masterpieces. Through music, he has conveyed profound philosophies about life, about people, and about the country. With such great contributions, Musician Phan Huynh Dieu was honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts from the State in 2000.

To commemorate and honor the personality of Phan Huynh Dieu, the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with the People's Committee of Da Nang City and accompanying units organized a series of activities to express gratitude and recognize the great contributions of the talented musician to Vietnamese music, with 3 activities: Discussion on the life and creative career of Musician Phan Huynh Dieu, taking place on November 8, 2024 at Tien Son Sports Palace; Exhibition Phan Huynh Dieu - The returning bird, from November 8 to 18, 2024 at the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts; Art program "Musician Phan Huynh Dieu - Staying with love".

The highlight of the series of commemorative activities is the art program "Musician Phan Huynh Dieu - Staying with love" which will be held at 8:00 p.m. on November 9, 2024, at Tien Son Sports Palace, Da Nang City. The art program is expected to be broadcast on television channels: Vietnam Radio and Television Station in the Central Highlands - Central region (VTV8), Da Nang Radio and Television Station, Ho Chi Minh City Television Station (HTV), Vietnam National Defense Television Channel (QPVN)...

People's Artist Le Thuy, General Director of the art program, said that "Musician Phan Huynh Dieu - Staying with Love" will recreate the musical journey of the artist who brought unique colors to the revolutionary and lyrical music of Vietnam with optimism, love of life and civilization, reviving the melodies that have gone through the years and have become a heritage in the hearts of music lovers. The program also promises to bring the audience surprises with many works published for the first time by musician Phan Huynh Dieu.
