Online training program on commitments to the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union

The Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA) is expected to be ratified by the Vietnamese National Assembly at the end of May 2020. According to regulations, the EVFTA will take effect on the first day of the second month after Vietnam and the EU notify each other of the completion of the ratification procedure or at a time agreed by both sides. Therefore, the EVFTA is expected to take effect in July 2020.

To effectively take advantage of the opportunities brought by the EVFTA, it is very important to have a firm grasp of the commitments in this Agreement. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize an online training program on commitments under the EVFTA, including 3 training courses with the following content and subjects:

- Training course on service - investment commitments in the EVFTA Agreement: for officials working at agencies related to service - investment licensing of provinces, cities, law consulting firms or other interested parties;

- Training course on tax commitments and EU market access: for businesses with import-export activities, especially businesses exporting to the EU market or other interested partners;

- Training course on the code of conduct in the EVFTA Agreement: for businesses with import-export activities, especially businesses exporting to the EU market or other interested parties.

The Department of Industry and Trade announces and sends detailed information on the content and registration methods for the training courses in the attached document. The Department of Industry and Trade respectfully requests that agencies and units register to participate and notify businesses and interested parties in the area to send staff to register to attend the above training courses. Because the training courses are conducted online, the number of participants is not limited.

Registration deadlines for Training Courses are as follows:

- Training course on service and investment commitments in the EVFTA Agreement: before May 20, 2020;

- Training course on tax commitments and EU market access: before May 26, 2020;

- Training course on code of conduct in EVFTA Agreement: before June 3, 2020.
