Under the direction of the People's Committee of Huong Thuy Town, in mid-December, 5 wards: Thuy Duong, Thuy Phuong, Thuy Chau, Thuy Luong, Phu Bai and 2 communes: Thuy Thanh, Thuy Phu simultaneously deployed the construction of roads and streets meeting urban area standards in the period of 2023 - 2025.

Along with the widespread propaganda and deployment to thousands of households, businesses... committed to building VMĐT streets, the People's Committee of Huong Thuy Town has selected 12 routes to be the focal points for building civilized urban streets in 5 wards: Thuy Duong, Thuy Phuong, Thuy Chau, Thuy Luong, Phu Bai and 2 communes of Thuy Thanh and Thuy Phu.

In order for the construction of urban areas to be practical and effective, in addition to strengthening patrols and controls; ensuring urban order and public order on key routes, areas, spontaneous market places, shops and businesses encroaching on roadsides, sidewalks, etc., the People's Committees of the above wards and communes have developed plans and established implementation teams for each street.

Accordingly, each street establishes a team with 5 members, with clearly assigned tasks; every week, the teams will inspect, propagate, and urge organizations and individuals residing on the street to comply with the criteria; notify the People's Committees of wards and communes of violations for handling measures. On this basis, every month, the People's Committees of wards and communes include the content of building roads and streets meeting urban area standards in the content of the People's Committee meetings to evaluate the results, direct the implementation and report the situation to the People's Committee of the town.

With the re-establishment of order on the roads and sidewalks by the authorities from the town to the grassroots, after only a short time of implementation, the situation of losing urban beauty and encroachment on roads and sidewalks for business and trading has had positive changes. And more importantly, it has received the consensus and cooperation of the people.

“Previously, on Song Hong Street, there were many shabby signs, billboards, and canopies; many households left flower pots, goods, and items blocking the pedestrian path. After the Ward People's Committee disseminated and mobilized us to work with the government to build a clean urban lifestyle, we, the people, seriously and voluntarily removed the unsightly signs and canopies, neatly arranged the flower pots and items on the sidewalk, reminded each other to turn motorbikes outwards, and neatly park our vehicles within the painted lines of the ward,” said Mr. Le Thanh, a resident of Group 3, Phu Bai Ward.

Considered one of the localities that have drastically implemented the construction of roads and urban streets in Huong Thuy, along with the motto of "going to every alley, knocking on every door" to mobilize and call for response and support from the people, every week, the government and mass organizations of Thuy Luong Ward organize environmental cleaning campaigns, collect waste... This both creates trust and calls for the cooperation of the people to participate in the construction of urban streets, strictly comply with regulations on sidewalk use, and cultural lifestyle in residential areas.

“In the past, every time the force was deployed to restore urban order, most violations forced the authorities to forcibly remove illegal signs, billboards, and classified ads. However, now, people have voluntarily joined hands with the authorities to eliminate the above violations. This proves that people's awareness is increasing, and the building of an urban lifestyle has mobilized the participation of officials and people on each road and street. This is the basis for forming standards of cultural and civilized urban behavior and becoming a way of life for the people of the town,” said the leader of Huong Thuy Town.
