Startup story of a 9x girl

Ms. Vo Thi Kim Tim (Que My Thanh commune, Tan Tru district) meticulously prepares a full month offering tray for customers.

Born into a family with over 30 years of experience in the catering and wedding decoration industry, Ms. Tim was originally oriented by her family to pursue this career. However, with the desire to create her own path and develop her career to suit her personal interests , she chose a different path.

“The first time I was asked by a friend to make a full-month offering tray for my child, I found it beautiful so I posted the pictures on social media . I didn’t expect to receive so much attention and orders from friends and acquaintances. Since then, I have been doing this job for more than 3 years now,” Ms. Tim shared.

It is not easy to have complete offerings like the present. Ms. Tim said that at first, she had to learn by herself from groups, forums specializing in offerings, making and fixing, and redoing if it was not beautiful. Perseverance, meticulousness and passion are the secrets that help her gradually gain experience and become more and more professional in her work.

The offerings are prepared by her own hands, from cooking sweet soup, cooking sticky rice, making jelly, arranging flowers to arranging the party table, decorating, etc. If there is a peak day with many orders (sometimes up to 10 parties), she will mobilize an additional support team of 4 employees, mainly mothers, to create jobs for them to earn extra income.

Currently, on average, she accepts about 30 parties per month. Prices range from 1.9-3 million VND, depending on the needs and conditions of each family.

“In Tan Tru, people’s income is not high, so I also set reasonable prices so that everyone can have a full and solemn party for their children. My customers are not only in Tan Tru but also from neighboring localities such as Chau Thanh, Tan An, Thanh Hoa…” - Ms. Tim said.

To maintain her reputation, she always tries to arrange and prepare the offerings herself, because according to her, this job does not require too much skill but requires diligence, carefulness and most importantly, dedication to the job.

Full month and first birthday offerings usually include sweet soup, sticky rice, betel and areca nuts, fruits, fresh flowers, boiled duck, sometimes with buns and jelly according to each customer's needs. For Ms. Tim, each offering tray is not only a product but also a heart-felt wish of the family for the child.

Behind today's success is Ms. Tim's journey of perseverance. For her, no job is easy, as long as you are diligent and passionate, you will definitely reap sweet fruits. It is her meticulousness and dedication that has helped her gradually gain the trust of customers, being introduced to others by one person, from which her work has become increasingly stable.

“I don’t dream too big. I just hope to have a stable job, to be able to create more jobs for some mothers like me, to have income and to be attached to the traditional culture of my homeland, that’s happiness” - Ms. Tim shared with a gentle smile./.
