“We were quite surprised that the number of entries in the television and online newspaper categories was very large. This is very different from the usual competition where print newspaper entries account for the largest number,” said Le Quoc Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, adding that with the very clear directions of the Organizing Committee, this year, the content of the entries was very focused, closely following the theme and propaganda orientation.

Through the works, we can see the image of the People's Public Security Forces suppressing criminals, reactionary forces, drug traffickers, and other activities to protect the peace of the people. Through the works, the Jury has seen and understood more deeply the activities of the People's Public Security Forces, and better understood the People's Public Security soldiers at all levels, from central to local.

It can be said that through press works, the image of the People's Public Security Forces has spread widely. In addition to works on current issues or content covering the development process of the People's Public Security Forces over the past 80 years, the judges read touching stories about leaders in the People's Public Security Forces in previous periods. Through this, not only officers and soldiers in the People's Public Security Forces but also every Vietnamese person can learn and follow their example.

“The participation of press agencies and non-press writers shows that the contest was very successful. Regarding the organization, from the preliminary round to the final round, everything was very logical, scientific and methodical. Of course, every contest has points that need to be learned for the next rounds. But with the current professional organization, the participation of major press agencies as judges, preliminary round and final round, we had a successful season.

We believe that in the following seasons, the contest will continue to receive positive responses from press agencies nationwide, as well as other forces, professional and non-professional journalists inside and outside the People's Public Security Forces, with many high-quality works, so that the contest will spread more and more, receiving even stronger responses", Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh expressed.

Specialized and lively journalism award

Regarding the 2023-2025 season, journalist Pham Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam, also affirmed: The national press award "For National Security and Peaceful Life" is a very meaningful activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the People's Public Security Forces.

This year's season continues to affirm its wide appeal and high professional prestige, not only for press agencies of the People's Public Security Forces but also attracts strong participation from large and influential media agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, VOV, VTV, VietnamNet, Dan Tri, Tien Phong..., along with the team of media workers in the People's Public Security Forces from the central to local levels.

The range of topics is increasingly expanding, keeping up with current events and closely following social reality, from the fight against terrorism, drug crimes, "black credit", to new issues such as cyber security, digital transformation in the police force, reforming the apparatus towards a new era of development of the country. The quality of the works has been significantly improved, demonstrated through the participation of many groups of specialized authors, with modern thinking, and elaborate investment in form and message.

The award also strongly encourages the trend of modern journalism, integrating technology and multi-platform - demonstrated through many works on television, radio, online newspapers and print newspapers, showing the update and high communication efficiency. This is one of the specialized journalism awards with depth and vitality, both depicting the image of the police officer in peacetime and expressing core social issues from the perspective of responsible journalism.

VOV Deputy General Director Pham Manh Hung also said that in the context of the complex intertwining of traditional and non-traditional security situations - from transnational crimes, high-tech fraud, to the "peaceful evolution" strategy in cyberspace, the press plays a pioneering role in identifying, warning and orienting public opinion.

Topics on security and order, and the activities of the People's Public Security Forces are not only crime news but also humane stories about the sacrifices and innovations of the Public Security Forces, models of maintaining security and order, protecting the peace of the people, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development, vividly reflecting the flesh-and-blood relationship between the People's Public Security Forces and the Party, the State and the people.

For the Voice of Vietnam – one of the country’s main multimedia media agencies, the topic of the People’s Public Security Forces, ensuring security and order and the peaceful life of the people is not only a political responsibility, but also a professional strength. VOV has a widespread radio – electronic newspaper – digital platform system, which is an ideal condition to exploit the topic of security and order from many angles and many types.

In this year's season, VOV has left a deep impression through two honored works: A prize with the work "Between the Boundary of Life and Death" (authors: Bui Thi Huong Giang, Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, unit: News Department, VOV) and Encouragement prize with the work "Abandoning Dega Protestantism: Turning Back is the Shore" (authors: Bui Huong Giang, Nguyen Ha Phuong; unit: VOV Online Newspaper). The work is a sharp political perspective, effectively reflecting the work of mobilizing, sensitizing, and fighting against distorted arguments, demonstrating the role of national press in guiding public opinion.

VOV determined that participating in the competition is not only a response but also affirms the position of a key media agency in reflecting the activities of the People's Public Security Forces and national security issues. VOV's team of reporters demonstrated political courage, dedication, and excellent professional ability in pursuing difficult, thorny, and sensitive topics. Thereby, VOV affirmed its role as one of the key, strategic information channels in the work of protecting political security, social order and safety, fighting against false information, contributing to maintaining the Party's ideological foundation.
