Stories about students who overcome difficulties to take exams

On June 26, the 2025 National High School Exam took place. On the sidelines of the exam, CAND Newspaper reporters recorded touching stories about the determination to overcome difficulties and the dreams of special candidates.

Despite the hot weather in Hanoi , most of the exam locations still recorded a large number of candidates present early, showing their determination and seriousness in this important journey.

At the Phan Dinh Phung High School exam site, soldier Nguyen Thanh Hoang Phi (born in 2003), from the Ba Dinh Fire Prevention and Rescue Team, continued to take the exam to pursue his goal of becoming a student at the People's Public Security Academy. This was Phi's second time taking the National High School Exam, after a period of studying and performing duties at the unit.

From 5am, Phi's parents and younger brother traveled from the countryside of Phuc Tho to the exam site before the gate of Phan Dinh Phung High School closed. Phi's family wanted to encourage and inspire the young soldier to have more motivation in his journey of "crossing the gate of heaven". Meanwhile, Phi left his unit at 6am, arriving on time at the exam site.

Moments after the Literature exam this morning (June 26), Phi's mother hugged her son and cried in the middle of the school yard. The trembling hug, filled with tears and hope, was love, pride, and also trust in Phi's persistent journey to pursue his dream to the end.

In the afternoon at the exam site of Tran Phu High School, despite the hot weather, most of the candidates still arrived on time to enter the exam room.

At another testing site, Tran Phu High School, the story of candidate Nguyen Tien Anh moved many people. His face still bore many scars from the traffic accident two days ago, but he was still present at the testing room with the determination not to give up. Tien Anh shared that he had not set a specific goal yet, but would wait for his test results to consider the appropriate direction.

Some candidates forgot their documents and had to return to the school gate to ask their parents to get them for them.

At this testing site, in the afternoon of the same day, there were also a few cases of candidates forgetting their identification papers and having to rush to the school gate to ask their parents for help. Although it was just a small incident, it somehow showed that the nervousness and anxiety were still present in the candidates.

Candidate Nguyen Tien Anh came to the exam room with a face full of injuries. Tien Anh had a traffic accident 2 days ago. He said he did not have a specific school he wanted to go to yet and would wait until he got his exam results.

The first exam day ended not only with exam papers and pages, but also with real-life slices of determination, family love and faith, indispensable provisions in the journey of maturity of every candidate.

At some testing locations in Hanoi on June 26, most candidates were confident about their test results.
