On April 15 and 17, The Cong - Viettel Club received written approval to organize matches of rounds 20, 21 and 24 of V-League 2024 - 2025 (on April 25, May 2 and May 23) at Hang Day Stadium from the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports (the stadium management unit) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF, V-League organizing committee).
The Cong - Viettel is forced to rent Hang Day Stadium as their home ground for the above 3 matches, because My Dinh National Stadium will host a cultural event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Hanoi Police Club worried about rain
According to Tuoi Tre Online , the matter of The Cong - Viettel Club renting Hang Day Stadium has a new development when the Hanoi Police Club sent a document to the leadership of The Cong - Viettel Club, VPF and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports on April 19.
In this document, the Hanoi Police Club expressed concern that the use of Hang Day Stadium by The Cong - Viettel Club would cause difficulties for the team in preparing for the second leg of the semi-final match of the 2024 - 2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship against PSM Makassar on April 30.
The reason is that in round 20 of V-League 2024 - 2025, Hang Day Stadium will host 2 matches between The Cong - Viettel Club and Song Lam Nghe An on April 25, and Hanoi Club and Quang Nam on April 27.
With the above match density, plus the Hanoi Police Club's information that the hydrometeorological agency forecasts that it may rain from April 25 to April 30, 2025, Hang Day Stadium will not be able to ensure sufficient conditions to host the match on April 30.
According to the Hanoi Police Club, in February 2025, the supervisor of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) responded that the quality of the Hang Day stadium surface did not fully meet the conditions due to the weather.
"If the consequences occur, the organizing committee may not allow the Hanoi Police Club to organize the match at Hang Day Stadium. The club will not have enough time to fix it, or will fine the club for not meeting the requirements on facilities.
Hanoi Police Club registered My Dinh Stadium as its secondary stadium, however, My Dinh Stadium currently does not meet the quality conditions of the field surface," the document stated.
Due to these difficulties, the Hanoi Police Club requested The Cong - Viettel Club to share the difficulties and at the same time study and arrange to organize the match on April 25 on another field.

The Cong - Viettel Club proposes a plan
After receiving the document from the Hanoi Police Club, the leadership of The Cong - Viettel Club quickly responded in writing at the beginning of this week.
Regarding field maintenance, The Cong - Viettel Club shared the difficulties of the Hanoi Police Club and proposed not to organize practice sessions to familiarize themselves with the field before the match on April 25, for the home team (The Cong - Viette) and the away team (Song Lam Nghe An).
Regarding the request to find another stadium, The Cong - Viettel Club said: "At this time, we cannot find a solution as requested. We look forward to receiving feedback from the Hanoi Police Club."
The army team gave three reasons: the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports issued an official dispatch agreeing to let the team use Hang Day Stadium; VPF Company announced the adjustment of the team's match schedule and venue in round 20; and Song Lam Nghe An Club had a plan to move and rent a hotel for the match on April 25.
Currently, Hanoi Police Club is working with the stadium management board and V-League organizing committee.
It is known that on April 28, AFF match supervisors will inspect and evaluate the standards to ensure conditions for organizing the second leg semi-final match of the 2024-2025 ASEAN Club Championship, between Hanoi Police Club and PSM Makassar on April 30.
